Everybody tells me my covers are amateurish (an insult, since I did them!)and I need a professional! Trouble is I can't afford that, not for all the books anyhow. So I'm starting with one for the newest book The Last King of Ireland, the story of Daniel O'Connell, and that should be up in a few days. If it makes a difference to sales, I'll think again...

Trying to write....
Writing, I find, is a slow business. What I have so far written has taken four years. So you can’t announce a new book every month in a Blog like this one.

So lacking a new book to announce each month, I thought that the stages of development I am following towards the goal of making my books sell might be of interest. As a complete novice I started by devouring as many ‘how to� articles and books as I could afford, the most recent and so far the best being 10 Keys to Ebook Marketing Success by Karen Baney. She, like most authors in this genre, is American, as I think is my target audience, except they are the Irish American community.
This week I’m working through her 5 areas every author website must have. Time - and this News page - will tell if they make any difference! ...more
