Catch Up Now: These Big Series All Have Books Coming Out Next Month

There's nothing like the pain of finishing a book with a cliffhanger…and needing to wait months (if not years) for the next book. Save yourself some misery and jump into a beloved series that has a new installment coming out next month!

To find these series, we rounded up the top March sequels your fellow ŷ can't wait to read, which we measure by how many times a book has been added to Want to Read shelves. Below, we've featured the first book in each of these series—as well as the first line to give you a taste. Which ones pique your curiosity?


Genre: Science fiction
First book: Leviathan Wakes
First line: "The Scopuli had been taken eight days ago, and Julie Mao was finally ready to be shot."

Book #8, Tiamat's Wrath, hits bookshelves on March 26.


Genre: Poetry
First book: The Princess Saves Herself in This One
First line: "Ah, life—the thing that happens to us while we're off somewhere else blowing on dandelions & wishing ourselves into the pages of our favorite fairy tales."

Book #3, The Mermaid's Voice Returns in This One, hits bookshelves on March 5.


Genre: YA fantasy
First book: A Study in Charlotte
First line: "The first time I met her was at the tail end of one of those endless weekday nights you could only have at a school like Sherringford."

Book #4, A Question of Holmes, hits bookshelves on March 5.


Genre: Paranormal fantasy
First book: Lake Silence
First line: "I wouldn't have known about the dead man if I hadn't walked into the kitchen at the exact moment my one and only lodger was about to warm up an eyeball in the wave-cooker."

Book #2, Wild Country, hits bookshelves on March 5.


Genre: Mystery and historical fiction
First book: A Curious Beginning
First line: "I stared down into the open grave and wished that I could summon a tear."

Book #4, A Dangerous Collaboration, hits bookshelves on March 12.

Rachel Might want to correct that last one, guys. Return of the Thief (The Queen's Thief #6) was delayed to Summer 2020 a few weeks back.

Janine There's also Splintering Reality coming out next month. I really loved it (got to read it early), and a great dystopian YA fantasy.

Kat I didn't know there was a fourth book to the Charlotte Holmes series! I loved the first but had to wait for the second and third to be released and although I bought them I haven't picked them up yet. This means getting back to this great detective duo asap!

nadyne It’s been so many years since Ridley Pearson added to the Lou Bosch/ Daphne Matthews series that I’m beginning to think it won’t happen at all. There was a novella/ short story, but I need a full novel. Trying to not lose hope.

Kevin Konrad I am currently in a reading slump, I have a lot of books I have started, but am having a hard time continuing to read them, I am also trying to break into the YA series slowly I have read a couple but not sure how I feel about them yet, the stigma of reading Young adult books and stuff like that, so frustrated
My TBR pile seems to be just getting longer and longer, I just want to book that grabs me from the first sentence. I love fantasy and Sci fi but I also want to broaden my horizons. Ugh it's so hard

Adam Schilling I can't wait for the new Empire book by Anthony Riches. There's a new book by Christian Cameron coming out in April, as well, that I'm looking forward to, though I'm getting impatient for the next installments of his Chivalry series and Tom Swan serial books. I also feel as though I've been waiting forever for the next book in the Wandering King series. Where is it?

Sukeerat I can't wait for the sequel to Rebecca Ross' "The Queen's Rising". It's called "The Queen's Resistance" and it's supposed to come out on March 5th, 2019. I love the way she describes the world her story takes place in. I adore the characters and their personalities. I am so hyped for the next book.
