The 45 Most Anticipated Spring Mysteries and Thrillers

Posted by Cybil on March 17, 2025

Heads up, mystery and thriller fans: The spring season is going to be a busy one.
Ìý
We’ve collected below 45 of the spring’s most anticipated titles, as determined by which books your fellow Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ regulars are adding to their Want to Read shelves. All the titles here are slated to publish from the beginning of March to the end of May.
Ìý
Among this season’s highlights: Genre godfather Harlan Coben returns with Nobody’s Fool, a sequel of sorts to his 2016 novel, Fool Me Once (adapted into a last year). On the literary side of things, acclaimed author Amity Gaige returns with the wilderness suspense novel Heartwood, concerning a missing Appalachian trail hiker. And we’re hearing great things about Julie Chan Is Dead, Canadian author Liann Zhang’s debut thriller about the really dark side of social media.
Ìý
Elsewhere, you’ll find a nice selection of cozy mysteries, classic whodunits, psychological thrillers, serial killer stories, slightly satirical serial killer stories, and the latest in gonzo Florida crime fiction from the great Carl Hiaasen. Also: aging female assassins and movie star authors.

Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ was bought by Amazon a while back, so I would guess they are picked by either book publishers with Amazon marketing deals or Amazon promotions/marketing. This is just a guess, btw - I have no inside knowledge here.

Bobby I want that Man of Smoke arc so bad! Not even sure why as I haven’t read Alex North before, but the description sounds great.
