I have read several of this series in no particular order. It usually takes me a couple of minutes to figure out when it fits, but then I'm good.

My first was one that took place in a New York Museum and it sucked me in.(less)

I think those stories could have been fleshed out as stand alones, or could have been included in a book of novellas. Pendergast's story was riveting, and any time there was a shift, it was jarring. Not that I don't like the other characters, or found them boring... they just didn't fit.(less)
