But I would say that the film was quite faithful to the book,a few exceptions like George had black hair in the book,Cecil was fair I think!
But the book won't change your view of the characters/story,and definitely a safe read.(less)

I did prefer the English version but that might be personal taste since I prefer reading books in their original language. However the translated version was quite good, it's just that the typical British atmosphere in the book and the humour surrounding it comes through better in the English version. So I don't think it's a problem reading the book first in Spanish and afterwards in English. However, since I can't read Spanish, I can't tell you anything about the quality of translation.... Enjoy the book, it is quite lovely and one of my favourites!(less)
