I'm a native Dutch speaker and read the book both in English and in Duth, first in English than in Dutch. I did prefer the English version but that might be personal taste since I prefer reading books in their original language. However the translated version was quite good, it's just that the typical British atmosphere in the book and the humour surrounding it comes through better in the English version. So I don't think it's a problem reading the book first in Spanish and afterwards in English. However, since I can't read Spanish, I can't tell you anything about the quality of translation.... Enjoy the book, it is quite lovely and one of my favourites!
