Great middle book in this series. Slate is just as yummy as his brother Jax, but I can't give him more stars because it takes longer than 3 days to overcome a multiple year addiction. Yes, I know it's fiction, but it's got to have some believablity to it. Loved the way Ms. Gendron wove in little peaks at their past. Rayna may have said she wasn't in love with Slate, but I don't think she ever stopped loving him. Can't wait for Zeke and how Lurlene is going to brin ...more

I've been anticipating this book ever since I finished Jax, the first book in this series. This book was just as good if not better than the first book. Slate is a very sexy, sweet, emotional love story that's about second chances & forgiveness. Slate & Rayna's story started when they were just little kids & we get to see the beginning of their story & the cause of their heartbreak in flashbacks. This is the second book in Breaking the Declan series and was dealing with the difficult subject of addition. Rayna comes back to her hometown after leaving because Slate broke her heart.
