When I read Fangirl, I didn't think Carry On sounded very similar to Harry Potter, but in Carry On, I definitely saw the resemblance. But the plot does deviate quite a bit from Harry Potter, and it is a different story. Carry On is humorous and adorable and exciting with some amazing characters. If for no other reason, you must read this book for Baz and Penelope. Simon himself was boring in comparison.

I thought this book was just 'okay'. I went in with very high expectations, as I LOVED Fangirl, but this book was really underwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the read. I liked the character building, I even liked the complex romance/friendship triangle that was involved, and even the story line was fine.
