I really enjoyed this heartbreaking book. It felt close to me in a way. I think the summary that exists for it is good enough without me needing to rehash it here.

One of the best books I've ever read. Haunting and beautiful. I read this when I was in El Salvador and was just now reminded of it, when Erin posted it on her page. I haven't read any of Keri Hulme's work since 1996, so I'll do a search to see what else she's written. ...more
