An excellent political satire on the UK during the end of the 20 th century. At the same time it is a great view on humans and their vices. Why do people do what they do? It is not a nice portrait of a family, the characters aren’t really likable, but maybe if studied up close, many of us become less likable too?:-)

Acerbic and often riotously funny, although there are moments when things get a little repetitive as the Winshaw family members are described in increasingly despicable detail. Although definitely of a specific time and place (the tail end of the Thatcher area), there are unfortunately all too many parallels with today's world. Hilary could be any number of Fox news personalities.
