This book was AWESOME! Definitely fast paced and kept me on the edge of my chair. I loved the main character, Katsa. She comes off as cold-hearted in the beginning, but then really grows on you. I LOVE Po! He is such a softie, and I enjoyed reading about him through the whole book. Definitely a great read, I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Bitterblue, to come out next year!
Can't say enough good things about this one. Fast paced. Lots of action and romance. Loved it!

I like it alot. It's original, inventive and adventurous. The idea of being a Graceling, with unique skills, heterochromia, 7 kingdoms, medieval-ish setting, and the characters they're all Cashore's no one else's. You can never compare it to any book.

This is a really nice adventure fantasy story. It reminds me a bit of Hunger Games with the very strong young heroine. I feel like this seven kingdoms fantasy world has a lot of potential and was described with the perfect amount of detail to make it interesting. I will look forward to other books in this series.
