Poverty in America is real. Homelessness in America is real. And forced eviction is something that some people in America face often multiple times in their life. If you are someone who believes that people become homeless because of their own laziness, then you should read this book. I remember reading Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America . Clearly. It was for an intro class for my minor with one of my favorite professors. Reading Evicted reminded me of that first (of many to come) eye-opening experiences years ago.

Should be required reading for everyone. The book is eye-opening, devastating and yet offers real solutions to this problem that plagues ALL cities - not just Milwaukee.
