When am I going to learn to do some recon before diving into books simply because I have been reading several connected series of fav authors?
As in this case. Dirty Deeds #1 brings Mal & Cillian into focus but turns out to be a very short novella. (Pet Peeve: Why are books being promoted as novellas when they are not even that long?)

I love SE Jakes books - and this side shoot from the Hell or High Water series is off the scale good.
Familiar and loved front men Prophet and Tommy appear but take a back seat to Mal and Cillian, one of Proph's SEAL team, and a British spy respectively.
It's tense, entertaining, clever, sexy read. May be a little too sexy for some - who'll get to a certain exchange between Mal and Cillian and head for the hills. Come back when that's over if you can't deal - my reaction? "They wouldn't? They coul ...more

This spin-off of SE Jakes Hell or High Water series is truly awesome. It's only short in comparison to the parent series but is a barn-stormer from start to finish.
The way Mal - the battle-scared and silent ex-SEAL communicates even though he can't speak is brilliantly done. Cillian the British spy is an excellent foil to him and comes with his whole own set of complications an secrets.
The sex is a dynamite as any explosive Mal might use and the ending of this installment of the pairs story will ...more
