I find Lahiri to be an incredible author and this book is no exception. A story that I've not lived but through the writing, one that could easily be felt. I rarely read books more than once but I would not hesitate to read this again.
I wouldn't say the book was fast paced and exciting but I don't look for that in all of my reading material. I found the story compelling and the characters interesting.

The characters in this book are fascinating people coming up upon individual trials that each must confront on their own. An interesting portrayal of what divides the generations in any family as well as what bonds people to one another.h
I adored this. It really gets one thinking about identity as well as how your past affects your future and how you view the past changes over time.
Not as good as I expected, but definitely worth reading.
