What are you currently working on?

Leesa Freeman I hope to have my novel, Into the Deep End, out by the start of the new year. It tells the story of Luke Stevenson who dreamt of being the next Ryan Lochte, but that was before a nameless drunk driver crossed the yellow line, ending every dream he had. Mourning the loss of his twin sister Bethany and fighting to cope with life as a paraplegic, Luke is blind with anger and rage at everyone. Furthermore, thanks to his spinal cord injury and resulting impotence, Luke has no idea how to be the kind of man any woman would want—what could he possibly have to offer now?

I can’t wait for readers to meet Luke. He is the most difficult character I’ve written, partly because of all the research I did in trying to get the details just right, but also because I fell so much in love with him, that putting him through so much agony was really hard for me. But he figures out how to negotiate it all while keeping his sense of humor and self intact, and that is what makes Luke one of my favorites.
