Before I started writing my first novel I made an outline of the main events that were to happen as the story unfolded. That way I was able to continue writing without any writer's block. However, coming up with the outline in the first place was the hard part. My main character, Elodie Black, a magical creature and seer of dreams was initially a fortune teller in a travelling circus. She evolved as the outline developed.
