Kaylin Worthington asked Matthew Dicks:

I've just started your Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend book and I'm an ABA therapist for a kiddo with autism. How would you say you researched to tell the story from the point of view of the imaginary friend (as he seems to understand Max so well)? Do you have Asperger's or someone you know that does? Thanks!

Matthew Dicks I've been teaching for 21 years in a school with many students with autism. Many have been in my class, so it's just been a slow process of understanding these kids a little better every year.
