I just finished The Bear and The Nightingale and have started straight into The Girl In The Tower. I absolutely love the magical world that is created, the sense of mystery and the strong characters. In creating the female characters, who for the most part drive the story and are not without flaws and struggles, did you set out to give the story a strong feminist sentiment?
