I am loathe to start a new long series that isn't finished. But I have heard nothing but good things about this series. How many more books does Martin have to write to finish this series?

There is supposed to be only one after that, but Martin is famous for making the series longer than he initially thought it would be. It was originally envisioned to be a trilogy. (less)
