For a cozy book, Fangirl has several hospitalizations and serious mental health crises, and a character who has been abandoned by her mother and her twin. That's a lot of angst! I think of most of my books as both ANGSTY and REASSURING. If you're looking for straight-up cozy, you might want to check out my graphic novel, Pumpkinheads, with artist Faith Erin Hicks; my short story collection, Scattered Showers, which includes several cheerful stories; and my novel Attachments, which is even less angsty than Fangirl.

After the announcement of the She-Hulk series on Disney+ starring Tatiana Maslany at D23 Expo, my question is were you invovled in the screen-writing for the show at all and - if you know - how closely do the events of the show match up to the events in your upcoming novel?

Hi! I’ve always been curious about how fan art affects your cannon images of the characters? Like when I first read carry on I imagined Baz the way you described him- like Andrew Ridgeley. Now I imagine him the way he’s usually drawn- with softer lines (Vanessa’s art)Has it affected the way you imagine the characters? This is not a question about Penny with purple hair (I know she doesn’t have purple hair- I promise!)
