I've watched the show, is the book worth reading, for example, are the plot/characters/writing style worth the time, even though I know everything that happens?

YES! Read the books. The first season of the show follows book 1 very close but after that they begin to cut and merge characters and trim and change plot lines. By season 5 of the show they have changed so much that it feels (for some POV) like entirely different story lines.

Yes Yes, I have watched all the six seasons of the show. And just started reading books. And with every chapter I regret not reading them before. But its better late than never, go for it !
