Okay this is only getting 4 stars because of the ending. I really liked the book and the way that it flowed from Present Day to the Past. My heart broke for Lanny in so many ways and yet I was so upset with her. Why I kept asking myself with every page that I turned. Hoping the next page would reveal a different outcome than the one that I knew was going to happen. Jonathan man I hated with him passion and I think that is what the author wanted. There is so much passion in the hatred of Jonathan that by the middle of the book you are really questioning why you hate him so much. Yet it was the end of the book that really drove me to not like him. His selfishness was at an all time high and that he could not even think about Lanny. Which was how he really always was hence the hatred. Luke... Luke I think I love you and worry for you at the same time. There are too many questions that are left unanswered for me to really finish up on Luke. I can't wait to read the second book with my fingers crossed that something good and major will happen ...more

I love Max, I loved him from the moment I meet him in the first book of the Bullet Catchers. What girl does not want a man that is dark and dangerous with something to hide. For Max taking a case was just like any other day, however this case involved his old lover who after a year after her father's death ups and marries someone else without even telling him. But Max supposed he lost that right after not talking to her after her father's death.
Cori on the other hand has to fight to keep her emotions clear when it comes to safety the site of Max still gives her the ups and downs like it did so long ago. She still has not forgotten how he made her feel. I loved their dynamic together they would bicker and bring out who they really were when no one else was looking. I have to say though the person that was after Cori really surprised me. St. Claire did a great job with that. Even after we find out about the money problems (sorry won't say more about that :0 ) St Claire still makes you wonder who the hell is killing people. I loved the ending. Jazz comes to the aid of her identical twin sister who says she needs a cover while she is working on a big story. While Jazz is covering as Jessica her twin Jazz learns that her sister has a body guard and that her sister was receiving threats that she was not taking seriously. Now Jazz has to put aside the hope that her sister is going to met her like she was supposed and has to start playing the actual role of investigator to find her sister before it is too late. With that the body guard that was hired to protect Jessica is steaming up the fantasies that Jazz has. They fight each other on every decision because they are both hot headed and perfect as individuals. It is a great chemistry that Jazz and Alex show when they actually work together.
