Where I hardly ever like the stories of the enemy (because I am a sucker for romance) I do see how those parts intertwine. Saxton seems to be an important part because now his family is part of the threat towards Wrath. I will love to see how that plays out.
Layla, was such a great part of this threesome of a love triangle. I loved her strength in even what seems like it should have been her darkest time. She stood up for the decisions she had made and where they were to lead her. I will always be a fan of hers and it now seems that she will continue to be a VERY important part of Blay and Qhuinn's life and everyone, including Blay's AWESOME parents who accepted their son for who he was not who he chose to love! GOT TO LOVE ANY PARENT LIKE THAT RIGHT?
In this book you see how desperate Xcor is to just see Layla and how he now sees her and his which means he has bonded. This is not going to work well I presume. But from how he reacted in this books tells me he does not see the throne as his ultimate goal. I think Layla is going to be the undoing of the Band of Bastards. Xcor even went so far as to give Layla his number and not care about the consequences of that act.
Assail and Sola's story will hopefully pick up in the next book because it was getting very good. Where at one point I was becoming a bit annoyed (wanting to get back to Qhuinn and Blay) I did find myself intrigued with his goal.
Trez is bonded already! We noticed that the first time he EVER saw Selena. He was already saying MINE in his head. The brother is definitely bonded and hadn't so much as kissed the Chosen. He felt rejected when he gave her the compliment but does not know that she is not used to males doing that. At least I think that was her reason for pulling away. At any resort it sent him back where he did not need to be. I hope he does not get caught up in those skanky females. He, like the others has a thing about him that makes you want the best for him. iAm as well. He did something for his brother and that was protect him even when he does not know how to do it himself.
All in all this book opened the door to not only a great love that we had been waiting on for so long, but it opened us up to multiple stories of love that will flourish as Ward continues to write!
Up next? The King which is a book about Wrath and Beth, trying for their first young!! I know it's not part of this book but yet I wanted to add that anyway.
Happy reading followers of Ward and her sexy, loving and fierce warriors of the Brotherhood and the women that and men that make them go completely insane. Oh, and US AS WELL! ...more

I'd read until Nalla's young were adults! *laughs*
I think that in the beginning the it started a bit slow. I guess because I was expecting Manny to be rushed into see Payne a few pages in and then the attraction hit home! Unfortunately that didn't happen and with every page turn I was wondering when it would happen. When they did meet I liked the fact that Manny lost all want for Jane and it was pushed over onto Payne. With that in itself I knew he had to be related to someone there. Especially for Payne to love the taste of his blood and that it was stronger than that of a regular human. The fact that he was related to Butch came when there were short clues to his looks and his mannerisms. He talked shit just like Butch did when he first met them. That he would hold his cross so tight and the fact that Manny's father had been a doctor. A doctor that never stayed in the same place for too long. Now, who their father is, that is still a mystery but he is very much up there with Wrath and the royal family.
Manny? Well, Dr. Manello stole my heart at the very beginning because he was up front and very direct. He stood up to V even after he found out what they were and that he could have probably died by the male's hand. On numerous occasions. But still he held his own. It seemed that his pull towards Payne was stronger than Butch's towards Marissa. As soon as he looked into her eyes he just knew that she was his. A true love at first sight scene. When he was called in to help after the lesser attack I did like it when he put Rhage in his place telling him that he was going to do what he had to in order to make sure he was seen to properly. The brothers give respect to those that stand up to them no matter what and as he watched over Payne and helped they came to respect him. As they did Butch. Manny showed the vulnerable side of himself too allowling Payne to see that he might be a male but he did feel. He felt so much for her that he didn't want to leave her in the end, something he knew would happen eventually after he began to age. Which brings me to him now regressing in age. Will he pull a Benjamin Button? I dont think so. I think somehow Ward will have it where Manny will stay within that age range to live out his life with Payne for however long they stay on earth.
Payne? I dont know, maybe I was reading her wrong in the other books but I took Payne as an Xhex type female. Not the build but the personality and the fighting. The girl can kick some ass I might add but she seemed to be a cross between Layla and the Sympath half-breed. She would practically melt when she heard him felt him touched him saw him. The girl was on a cloud that never came down. But the few times she fought she kicked major ass. What I thought was so sweet was when she was trying to see more of Manny in the bathroom. Too damn funny. Then got busted! I all but laughed my ass off. But I was hoping she would see all of him too. Her glow? Another thing to look at with Manny. He caused her to glow and therefore heal when in V's case his glow healed Butch. Nice tie-in. Also, her glow does not harm unless she wants it to whereas V's glow will kill in any case besides Butch. I found that neat and it shows the difference in them.
Xcor and Throe? I felt that Throe was trying to fill Bloodletter's shoes but even then he really was not that evil and volatile. He wanted to be but it didnt always come out that way. He would try and overturn Throe but it seemed that the male had a respect that Xcor could be proud of. The fact that he had a cleft lip threw me off because why would Bloodletter disgrace and torment his own blood because of the fact that he thought there was something wrong with V but not this male who had a physical deformity? One thing I can say is that they are loyal whether bad or good. They stand behind their leaders and I like that. What is getting to me is the fact that he wants the thrown which means Wrath is once again in danger.
Oh, and that THREESOME they did on that girl was HOT AS HELL! I'd have paid them if I were her! LOL They rocked her world something fierce. Hell I liked their scene better than Manny and Payne's!
Poor Veck. Will he be accused of trying to kill that asshole or no? I hope not. And what is his future role I wonder?
Also I did feel that this was more of a Vishous book than Manny and Payne's. It just seems like there was more to him in this one. The part between him and Jane nearly broke my heart. His inability to talk or express his feelings was killing me! Jane didnt want to think the worse but she's a female and no matter how musch we dont want to think that our men would cheat it's still an option. Butch was such a great friend, no, brother. He knew that he had to do that for V or else the male would not make it. To take on the burden of dominating your best friend is something that can never be taken lightly.
All in all I loved this book and I will be re-reading it later....more

I really did not like the ending of this book. I loved the storyline but soon into it I realized where it was going to go and I will admit I did not want to finish it. I feel that Jace is being torutred way to much in this series.
I love Kyle/Jordan. The built sexy werewolf is such a very nice balance to all the focus being on the sexy Shadowhunter Jace.
Clary? I'm still trying to figure out what her purpose is. She is now just bouncing around. She's not a Shadowhunter yet and her training is going so slow because she and Jace are so in love and so attracted to each other they are afraid to touch each other because they feel they may just start making out whereever they are.
I still love Simon and I hope that his mother takes the news well. She found out the first time and he had to kind of glamour her but in the end decided to go back home. He needs to embrace what he is now and realize that there is no changing what he is. Just as Luke said either he accepts it or it will consume him. He made me laugh when he got busted for dating both Maia and Isabelle at the same time. It was funny as hell. Not to mention the fact that Maia was the ex of Kyle/Jordan. The same Jordan that bit her and turned her before leaving. But I see that blooming into something more because he didnt know what he was and didnt understand his jealousy. And the fact that she still had a toe ring he had given her. She still loves him.
But the major thing that pissed me off with this is that this story is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. The last three pages will say it all. The fact that Sebastian/Jonathan's body was there just in limbo told me he was coming back. And that Jace would be part of the reason he did.
Now this means Jace is going to be casted out or looked at as an enemy when he's just hurt that he was raised by a monster like Valentine...more

John and Bailey allow you to understand how**spoiler alert** I simply loved this book. I love this series. it's almost as good as her Breeds. Almost!
John and Bailey allow you to understand how much hell you'd truly go through to stay with someone you love. How no matter what you will stand with your lover and through the bullshit and the bullets. That even thought you know that you may have to give them up AGAIN, to have them for that moment is well damn worht it!
Bailey Serborne is a very smart headstrong and loving woman. She like John is determined and she never backs down. The sex is explosive! LOL...sorry but in all of Leigh's books her intimate scenes always have me wishing I could get in my car and go to my boyfriends house! Unfortunately he lives in NJ! But they are not the same old same old. They are always new and energizing!
John/Trent is a great man with a great heart and he shows it in how he touchs Bailey and speaks to her and finally gave all of himself to her. He was equal parts agent and lover to his woman....more
