The hero was absolutely disgusting. Opening scene is the hero calling the heroine a whore and a stripper because he sees her big boobs and her beauty and assumes the worst. He takes pride in being a sexist pig. I also hate overly arrogant heros and this H was just too much: like a good punch in the face should have shut him up. And the fact we have to hear over and over again how many women he's fucked and how he fucked them in the ass because he thought a pussy was too personal. What kind of fucked us logic is that?
The heroine also flip flopped a lot about how she was feeling, being offended one second and tripping over her vagina the next. ...more

In my opinion- this book is utter trash. But the is my viewpoint and I'm sure that if others read this they will have an entirely different viewpoint. Below are spoilers and my take away from this disaster of a book.
(view spoiler)[ So stupidity must run in the family with this series, because this heroine was a complete waste of space. My Biggest issue with this book is that the "mate" story line is so freaking one sided. It hurts to read honestly. When I read a mate story i want BOTH PARTIES to be invested and the heroine was an utter shit storm of inconsistencies. But anyway... Here's everything that I read 1. h starts whoring herself out to a sadist mofo who likes to beat and sexually abuse her so she has food to eat and doesn't starve. Because why not just get sexually abused when you can also get beaten and have broken bones? 2. Heroine gets captured by Hero. 3. Hero knows she is his mate so he starts to court her anyway he can. He cleans her wounds, gives her food, finds her shelter, and even tries to set up his version of a pic nick so she can be happy. 4. Heroine would rather go back home to her abuser then stay with the Hero. 5. Hero initiates to mate and heroine just "shuts off" and is preparing her body TO BE RAPED BY THE HERO. 6. Hero realises she's not into it and backs off right away. This happens 3 times. AND THEN 7. Hero gets her sexually aroused and thinks she wants to finally be his mate and their are a lot of mixed signals coming from her so he has sex with her while the heroine literally lays there and goes back into her "happy place" waiting for the hero to finish having sex with her. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I'm disgusted by this because the hero is so utterly devoted and caring towards the h, and the h's non actions turn him into an abuser. It just made me extremely upset that she just laid there waiting for him to finish. 8. Hero finally learns of h's old abuser and captures him and brings him back to the h so he can kill him. The h then tells the hero that he shouldn't kill someone just because "he was mean to her." Girl.... HE ABUSED YOU, BEAT YOU, AND RAPED YOU. WHY ARE YOU ALLOWING HIS ACTIONS TO GO UNPUNISHED. To me, this was a big slap in the face to anyone who has ever been abused. The heroine is comparing getting repeatedly abused as being the same as getting your feelings hurt. THEN 9. She blames everything her abuser did on herself, saying it was her choice. 10. Makes a "deal" with the hero for him to NOT kill her abuser because "he's still a person" and trades it for her having sex with the hero again.
WHAT IS THE LOGIC IN THIS BOOK. I'm out y'all. This shit is wack. To me, this heroine is a whole new level of low. I would much rather have a weak heroine who trips over her own vagina to get to the hero instead of a heroine who would rather go back to an abuser then stay with a mate. (hide spoiler)]...more

The heroine was rapedStarted out very strong but I couldn't bring myself to finish it. In my opinion, the author handles rape and assault VERY badly. The heroine was raped for two fucking years and then she's with the Hero again and she's over it in a single chapter??? No that's not good enough for me. Rape is a very serious issue and this book left a bad taste in my mouth. Like, she used the heroines ordeal to make the romance enhanced or something. Just no. And then she gets captured again. How much does this heroine have to go through to realize that MAYBE the hero is the cause of all of it?? I'm rating it 2.5 because of the chemistry and the heros devotion to the heroine. I wish this author didn't feel the need to add all this extra action movie shit in. She could write an entire book where the main characters just stare at each other and it would be good. ...more
DNF at 50%. Ok so here's the thing with these kind of paranormal romance books- they suck (in my humble opinion) Soooo much extra content on the paranoDNF at 50%. Ok so here's the thing with these kind of paranormal romance books- they suck (in my humble opinion) Soooo much extra content on the paranormal world that I don't care about and so much extra plot on top of plot with absolutely no romance to be found. Yeah there's chemistry but when they're supposed to be fated mates and they don't even kiss until halfway done the book it just irritates me. The author is just dragging out a book for no reason and the payoff of when they finally get together is never worth it. Moving on ...more
