I am seriously thinking about joining the darkfuse kindle club. I just got an email that it is only $58 for a year now and that gets me a new novel and a new novella every month plus 6-12 extra novels on top of that. It also says I will get special bonuses only for members but I'm not sure what those are, any members here that want to talk me into it?

message 2: by Char (new)

Char Yes. I actually won this as a prize over the summer. Every month a new novel and a new novella show up in my email or are delivered to my Kindle. On top of that, there are free bonus books tossed in.
The authors with Darkfuse include Greg Gifune, Sandy Deluca, Lee Thompson, Alan Ryker, Tim Curran, Kristin Dearborn and more.
They also have a nice Facebook book club site and are working on another site exclusively for the Kindle club subscribers.
I have nothing bad to say about them at all. When my free subscription expires, if there is any way I can afford it, I will be resigning.

I have been looking at it for awhile and with the price drop I am going to do it. Now I just need to decide what my first 5 books should be, any recommendations?

message 4: by Char (last edited Nov 16, 2012 07:42AM) (new)

Char Forgive me because I've forgotten what you have read already. My favorites so far have been:

When We Join Jesus In Hell Lee Thompson
Puppet Graveyard by Tim Curran
Trinity by Kristin Dearborn
Unhallowed Ground by Daniel Mills
The Hoard by Alan Ryker
Chorus of Dust by Justin Paul Walters
Without Purpose, Without Pity by Brian Hodge

message 5: by Char (new)

Char I would love to hear what you chose for your books, Justin. : )

The Sticks
Predatory Instinct
Snow
The Dampness Of Mourning
The Hoard

Are all some of the ones on the top of my list. Puppet Graveyard is the only definite book on my list right now. There are a bunch of other novellas also but I would rather pick novels if I can choose either one. Trinity and unhollowed ground look good from your list also.

this club keeps getting better, we now get three books per month instead of two and it is still the same price of $59 per year which breaks down to only $5 per month. plus all the free stuff in the downloads section and a few other perks. one of them is you get $15 for any new subscribers you refer which is why I am sharing this sign up link that will give me credit if you click on it and subscribe. you will also get 5 additional bonus books of your choice (any darkfuse title) for using the referal link plus the 5 that all new members get when you sign up as well. so 10 free books right off the bat and then 3 more every month for the next year.

message 10: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
and just to prove that I am not just trying to talk you into it so I can make $15 bucks off you, I will pass that $15 back to you making your subsciption cost only $44 you will have to wait to get the $15 back until the credit go's through and I get it is all.

message 11: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
its all set up with shane to automatically refund the $15 back to the new subscribers now, so far 2 people have used the link and got the refund.

message 12: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I'm really thinking of joining darkfuse now that my mom said I can practically have her kindle fire. Does anyone know what kind of a deal I can get? I'm still unsure of what it entails?

message 13: by Justin (last edited Apr 13, 2013 12:41PM) (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
if you use this link you will get ten free books plus $15 back so the club ends up costing only $44 and you get three books per month. if you count the first ten darkfuse books of your choice you are paying less than $1 per book. plus anything you dont want can be turned in for a amazon credit for anything on amazon. worse case scenario is you buy it, get the $15 back then turn every book back in if there is nothing you end up wanting to keep and at the end of the year you have $15 more than you started with plus the 10 free books.

message 14: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
I also want to point out that the ten free books you start with are worth the price you pay for the club and then it's like getting a whole year worth of books for free.

message 15: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments wow! I'm excited. I'm planning on getting this the first of May. Thank you for the link!

From March 18th-May 1st, 2013, DarkFuse will be holding its first membership drive for the book club.
I don't know if it will work on May 1st or if it has to be purchased before that. I will ask shane.

message 17: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments yes! let me know. I will get it earlier if I need to.

Post your 10 free books when you've decided so we can drool over your choices. ;)

message 22: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Am I suppose to get an email from dark fuse after I subscribe?

message 23: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
yea he will send you an email about what books you want, and also get your info to set up where the books are sent, you will need to give him your kindle email address so the books can be gifted to your amazon account. I got my email about 10 minutes after signing up but I think he says you will get it within 24 hours at the latest, I recommend picking out your 10 darkfuse titles now so you are ready when you get the email.

message 24: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Soo many books to choose from and they all look great! This is so hard..lol.

message 25: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Ok. So after much deliberation I decided on these 10: primitive, Judas goat, smile no more, darkness conjured, no turning back, he waits, the cold spot, the cleansing, the condemned, and hicks.

message 26: by Kate (new)

Kate | 1106 comments Mod
Addy, the cleansing is a freebie from the downloads section. There are about 25 stories available for download once you hit 25 posts in the forum. You should get something else instead, get the most out of your freebies.

message 27: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Thanks Kate! How do I change my selection? When will I receive them?

message 28: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Nmind. I just received them! But how would I return one...or is it too late? Sorry, hope Im not being a pain...lol.

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
Shane should have told you that was a freebie, what an asshole. did you get an email from Amazon saying they where gifted to you, if so you should be able to exchange for an Amazon. com credit if he sent them directly to you then I would send him another email asking to switch it.

message 30: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I think he sent them directly to me. I will write him an email.

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
that's how I got mine is they were sent directly to me. I wasn't sure if that had changed though. I dont know if he will give you another one but it can't hurt to ask.

message 32: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Yeah, I'm thinking not. I wrote him an email, but doubt he will respond...its all good though...might take me a while to reach 25 posts anyway.

Kate | 1106 comments Mod
If it's any consolation, it's a great story. I really enjoyed it.

message 34: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Great! I'm looking forward to it!

message 35: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments I am considering doing this as well, depending on if I have the money or not. Is this membership still going to be available on the 1st?

Want to check out a couple of the Gifune books, the new Meikle book, and maybe even a Curran book. I've read two stories from Curran, but didn't care much for them. They weren't bad, but they just didn't do it for me. Might have been the writing style or the language used for the settings, or I just wasn't in the right mood. Those stories were The Corpse King and Skull-Eater Campaign. Is his writing style the same for all his stuff? There are a couple of things from him that sound promising, but I also though The Corpse King sounded really good and was let down.

message 36: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I've only read Dead Sea by Curran that was a little disappointed. Slow and very descriptive, but the ending was pretty good and some of the characters were entertaining. Other than that, I've heard some of his other work is great.

message 37: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Well, decided to go ahead and do this. Time to decide which 10 books to get now

message 38: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Gonna be hard to pick just 10! Can someone let me know if any of these are available in the download section for free after so many posts? I don't have a login to use yet to check for myself:

Clockwork Dolls, Subject 11, The Sticks, Darkness Falls, Dreams the Ragman, Passenger, Skullbelly, Dark of the Sun, Heretics, The Rain Dancers, Lords of Twilight, Judas Goat, Sorcerer, The Mourning House, Apartment Seven, Trinity, Benjamin's Parasite, Fangboy, Night of the Wendigo, anything at all from Greg F Gifune

Will I get info on how to login to the member section soon? There are others I am interested as well, but I don't think I will get any I can borrow for free through my Amazon Prime membership.

Hi Robert, there are two books by Shane Staley that are available to buy on darkfuse but you can get them for free in the download section.
They are The Cleansing by Shane Ryan Staley and Redemption by Shane Ryan Staley .

message 40: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
redemption is the only gifune in the download section.

message 41: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
don't forget to use the link it ends today.

message 42: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Already use it. Now I just need decide on the 10 titles. Which is the only Gifune title in the download section? Do you mean Restoration (which I already have) or something? Unaware of one titled Redemption, though that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, lol

message 43: by Char (last edited May 01, 2013 12:46PM) (new)

Char Yeah, I think he meant Restoration.

I am constantly mixing those two up.

message 44: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Thanks, that what I figured. I could use a lot of my picks on just Gifune titles, lol. I'm not going to do that, but it would be very easy. I think I would rather get a PB copy of things like The Bleeding Season than an eBook.

message 45: by Char (new)

Char I haven't yet read a Gifune title that I didn't like. :)

message 46: by Justin (new)

Justin (justineaton) | 3492 comments Mod
thanks Charlene, that is indeed what I meant. looks like I am about to get a $50 darkfuse credit not sure what I will spend it on though, imprints just means print books right?

message 47: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Nice, what's the credit for?

Decided on my books and emailed Shane requesting these ones:

The Rain Dancers by Greg F. Gifune Dreams the Ragman by Greg F. Gifune The Living And The Dead by Greg F. Gifune Fangboy by Jeff Strand Benjamin's Parasite by Jeff Strand Subject 11 by Jeffrey Thomas Trinity by Kristin Dearborn Passenger by Ronald Malfi Night of the Wendigo by William Meikle The Sticks by Andy Deane

Fantastic selection, Robert. Hope you enjoy Darkfuse.

message 49: by Robert Krone (new)

Robert Krone | 157 comments Thanks! I am sure I will. Enjoyed the two books from them I have read before, The Fleshless Man by Norman Prentiss Thirty Miles South Of Dry County by Kealan Patrick Burke

Can't get enough from either of those two authors either
