So, has anybody read any good time travel romances lately? (other than Outlander - I've already read that one) I realized that I haven't read too much in that field...wouldn't mind giving it a try but I want to start out with a good author or two to springboard into the genre. Any suggestions?

And to keep this on topic, in the past month or so I finished:

There is a brand new author to check, Laura Dasnoit! Her first book was just released today and it looks FANTASTIC!! I am going to sit down to read it in a minute, but I wanted to share with all of you!

It's not exactly time travel, but I just finished Steamed where one of the main characters is flung from presumably our world to a steampunk world. Unlike Outlander, its the guy who ends up in the other world.

The book was actually quite interesting (not in any amazing writing kind of ways) but in that the character who is thrown back is a fan of steampunk already. He and the main female are very much aware of I guess what you'd consider the tropes of steampunk and romance genres and there's a lot of interesting discussion between them about gender roles etc. Actually, I reckon it'd make for interesting discussion in this group if it was ever a pick.

Other time travel romance? There was a series I read awhile back where Vikings and modern Navy Seals were going back and forth through time.

Sandra Hill wrote them. Viking series 2 I think. Good stuff. Other than he time travel not a lot of paranormal or urban fantasy.

My favorite time travel romance is dated and historical. Jude Deveroux's A Knight in Shining Armor. My favorite scenes are the dentist and the movie theatre. Although the icecream scene was good too.

Sadly the biggest disappointment I had was in the way the last book Sweet Addiction resolved itself as stated in my review of the book (*spoilers*)

But for the most part I LOVED this series! My favourites being Sweet Surrender and Sweet Possession. And I love the varying degrees of romance & erotica among the different relationships. Very Hot! Very Steamy! Very Satisfying!

Currently reading Assassins in Lovefor the group, and The Ritual by Erica Dakin. So far I like both.

I made the mistake of reading the first book in the Black Jewels trilogy last month rather than reading the picks for VF and now I can't stop!! I'm probably going to miss this month's pick as well because I have to keep reading these, at least until the 3rd book is over! I love that Felicia and VF has gotten me back into reading, but my to-read list is getting out of control, lol.

I just finished the new Ann Aguirre book Perdition. It's set in the Sirantha Jax universe and it was great! I highly recommend it if you liked the Jax books.

I'm done with Assassins in Love, which I like a lot, even if it wasn't the best book of the year, and with The Ritual, which was also a great read, action and sexy times included. Now I'm going to finish Born of Night and Sugar Daddy.

I would recommend Wicked as they Come by Delilah Dawson. Its not exactly time travel but another dimention. It was a very good book.

Since reading the Sweet Series by Maya Banks I went straight on to read 7 of the 8 books so far of her KGI Series.

They were great fluffy quick summer reads! Full of action, suspense and romance. There were some instances where things seemed a bit farfetched and over-the-top but I enjoyed the escapism it provided me. And through each book I've grown to love the "KGI Family" more and more.

I GOT STYXX!

Ahem...that is to say... I just finished the first six books in the Kushiel series and will be moving on to the newly released Styxx by Sherilyn Kenyon. (cough)

Finished Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I really loved this book and I highly recommend it.

Fair warning though. If you trigger easily to any form of abuse, rape, violence or drug use you might want to pass this by.
It takes a long and dark path to find the light at the end, but the light is truly more beautiful for the journey.
Other than that I don't want to say in order to avoid spoiling the story for anyone.

I just finished reading the Raine Benares series and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it (even if the main story went on a bit too long). I have not liked (or hated) characters more than I have in this series.

And I've started reading Blood Song by Cat Adams, the first in the Blood Singer series which I'm loving so far.

I just finished the latest Seanan McGuire book and it's REALLY fun, not a ton of romance, but urban fantasy great.

I've been slacking on my reading, but I'm about to start Anne Bishop's Daughter of the Blood and Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon. Oh, and I just started Y: The Last Man... holy cow, you guys, I was not prepared for that. But it's amazing.

Started "Storm Front"' Book 1 of the Dresden Files (thanks Sword & Laser!), and had to put it aside to keep from binge-reading the entire series immediately. Wow. The writing is so good, and Harry is already a contender for my Fictional Five.

Next books in my to read pile are;

Ocean at the end if the Lane by Neil Gaiman,
The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff,
and The Wild Way by Tanya Huff.

I am currently reading "X-Rated Blood Suckers". Despite the title, there's no sex (that I know of). It's about a vampire PI trying to solve the murder of a porn star. Quite interesting.

I finished the Kara Gillian series by Diane Rowland last month and also her latest WTZ book White Trash Zombie Apocalypse. I really like her books.

Because of Amy Dallen Talkin' Comics on the Geek & Sundry Vlogs channel I started reading comics again. Finished Y: The Last Man - The Deluxe Edition Book One and have Y: The Last Man - The Deluxe Edition Book Two on my nightstand. I'm looking into reading more and would love some recommendations from you guys.

I am currently binge reading the Dresden Files series - very very well written. Up to Turn Coat as of today. Friends of mine have read the entire series more than once! FYI: the TV series with this name is only loosely based on the books.

I really wanted to like the Dresden Files. I like aspects of the series, but I got through book 5 or so and just felt like they were feeling repetitive, an that the overarching plot didn't seem to be going anywhere or any of the characters evolving much. Does it get less formulaic at some point? I'd love to get into them.

I think many of us who love the Dresden Files just really enjoy the character of Harry and will follow him anywhere he wants to go. The basic storyline doesn't change all that much from book to book, but the world gets more and more complex. And so you know, Butcher's plan is for 20 books and an apocalyptic trilogy finale. So yeah, the main story arc is developed pretty slowly.

I just finished reading Stygians honor by lora Leigh. I thought it was very good and can't wait for more in the series. I am now reading Brawn by laurann dinner. so far really good.

Just finished two books by Tanya Huff; Enchantment Emporium and The Wild Ways.
Pretty good quick reads. Urban Fantasy, lots of sex mentioned but no real sexy times.
Enjoyable.

I just finished Riveted (the third in the Meljean Brook Iron Sea series) and I just wanted to say that this is by far my favorite of the three. I LOVED the characters. The love store was so sweet and there were some nice sexy-times. I also appreciated some of the cool steampunk tech and the scale of the plot (not so much on the save-the-world scale). Mainly I thought David and Annika were just absolutely wonderfully written characters. If you liked the Iron Duke and haven't read on in the series I HIGHLY recommend you do so. The second book was fun, but get to the third!!!

is a very dark and interesting Time Travel Romance.

I'll be reading by Lizzy Ford next. This is one of her newest releases and I think this will also be a blast like her other books. :D

I picked up the World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War audiobook and The Shambling Guide to New York City by Mur Lafferty. Oh! And a friend loaned me Fool because they know I'm a theatre nerd. I'm pretty excited about all three of these.

Just before reading this month's pick Warrior, I read by James Luceno, which was quite interesting. (Definitely puts a new perspective on the events of The Phantom Menace)

Next, I think I'll read either or .
I began reading P&P&Z on a flight and it was quite enjoyable so I definitely want to finish it, and Soul I picked up because I really enjoyed reading another of the author's historical romances, The Witch of Cologne.

I just finished reading Trust Me? The Trust Me? Trilogy, great read - I loved it.

I loved this book, and read it quickly. It starts out with a car accident - Aiden runs into the back of Jeni's car with his Aston Martin. Jeni, blinded by anger, doesn't realize how attractive Aiden is. He notices her, and pursues her by taking his Aston Martin to the repair shop where Jeni works. Love soon blossoms, but Jeni has some fairly major "trust" issues caused by an ex. When Aiden needs her most, Jeni has to overcome her trust issues and support Aiden, when he is wrongly accused of a crime. There are some dark characters, such as Alistair, Aiden's father who you really want to just punch in the face. There is also Chris and Sarah, who really add to the story line with their quick banter. You will laugh out loud at some of the banter between the characters. I always enjoy a book that makes me laugh and smile while reading it. The book ends, not really on a cliff hanger as such but you will really want to read the next instalment of this series. I will want to read more books by K E Osborn in the future, really well written and enjoyable first book.

Recently I read the Fever series by K.M. Moning, which was a very fun read and had extremly compelling characters. The last book was a little dissapointing (more talking about things than showing them), but I still enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

I read the first book from the Fever series a couple of weeks ago, and I liked it enough to start hunting down the rest of the series at used books stores. That said, I'm hoping for some characters to become a little more likeable (looking at you, Barrons). Then I finished Born of Night, which I liked even I found the end a vit disappointing, I moved on the novella Kinsman by Susan Krinard from the Out of This World anthology, and now I'm reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is a lot of fun.

I am currently reading Awake at Dawn by C.C. Hunter. I just finished reading Dark Currents by Jacqueline Carey.

I just started reading getting rowdy by Lori Foster. I just finished autumn bones by Jacqueline Carey.

I have a box of book I bought at a library book sale back in May and once a month I just close my eyes and grab a book. Right now I am reading "The Marriage Trap" by Jennifer Probst. Very predictable little romp fest and loving a little guilty pleasure.

Finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy a few days ago, and now almost done with Postmortem.

I love the 24 hour bookstore book one of my favorites I have read this year.

I'm currently reading "The Bone Season" which is a decent book! Apparently there will be ten in the series and it follows a group of clairvoyants.

I just started reading Shadows Claim by Kresley Cole.

I am about 100 pages into Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner or as I remember in 1993 "The Stork Club" by Iris Rainer Dart.
About to start "The Phantom Tollbooth" which is what my oldest is reading in school right now.
