Taryn (taryngilliland) | 50 comments This month I finished Mark of the Demon by Diana Rowland, Heaven by V.C. Andrews and Sire by Thomas Galvin.

Right now I've started Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout and have plans to read Alone by Robert J. Crane (recommended by a friend).

I just finished River Marked and really enjoyed it. It was odd not seeing the pack as much, but I liked learning more about Mercy and seeing her interaction with Adam.

message 403: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (sh0rtchica) | 17 comments I most recently finished Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs, also in the Mercy Thompson world. I loved it; I wasn't sure about the spin-off series at first, but it's awesome.

I'm going to move on to the Alpha and Omega series soon. My next up is the Chicagoland Vampires books by Chloe Neill since I Have the first four books.

Infinite (infiniteblossom) | 1 comments I just fininished Blood Games in the Chicago Vampire Series by Chloe Neill its a favorite series of mine...1 more day till The Shadows comes out!!! It's the next installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward. The Brothers are my obsession so I can barely wait.

message 406: by Becca (new)

Becca (herblackwings29) | 87 comments I'm up to date on the Mercy Thompson books and have read the first two Chicagoland Vampires books. I'm just getting ready to start book 3. I did go to Ilona Andrews site to read the Curran's POV collection this evening though.

message 407: by Becca (new)

Becca (herblackwings29) | 87 comments I read my way through Cry Wolf, Hunting Ground, and Fair Game by Patricia Briggs. Then moved on to Some Girls Bite, Friday Night Bites, and Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill. I'm working on No Rest For The Wicked by Kresley Cole and taking Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill to work for break time reading.

message 408: by Melody (new)

Melody (funkmelodious) | 7 comments Looking forward to hearing what people think about all the Urban Fantasy books on this list! Since I ran out of Patricia Briggs's books to read, I've moved on to Kim Harrison and Jim Butcher. I can't get enough of James Marsters's performances of Butcher's Dresden Files.

message 409: by Hailey (new)

Hailey Coogan | 3 comments I'm currently reading Kristin Kathryn Ruysch's Anniversary Day series. She's releasing the series every month until it concludes and the new Talia book can begin

I recently finished Vision in Silver, which is a third in the Others trilogy by Anne Bishop. I highly recommend those books. I haven't read anything that interprets the Urban Fantasy universe in such a unique way. It's not present day but with magic, instead the supernatural existed and has been a force in North America since it's discovery without being in hiding.

message 410: by Ony091 (new)

Ony091 | 8 comments I'm reading Red Fox by Karina Halle.
Finished Startshine and Vertigo, both part of Aurora Rising series.I really liked them.

message 411: by Taryn (new)

Taryn (taryngilliland) | 50 comments I've read Half-Blood, Alone, Blood of the Demon, Secrets of the Demon, Sins of the Demon, Touch of the Demon, Fury of the Demon, Driven, and Circle of Dreams: A Quytel Novel since I last posted.

...Methinks my twenty book reading challenge for the year is a tad too small. ;)

The Golem and the Jinn was So Good!

message 415: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Just finished reading Tortured Souls : The Legend of Primordium by clive barker which was a pretty weird but good horror novella and am now starting The Zodiac Legacy: Convergence which is pretty good thus far.

message 416: by Malaraa (new)

Malaraa | 335 comments I just finished Girls Like Us: Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon - and the Journey of a Generation, and enjoyed it a lot. Biographies aren't the usual thing here, I know, but it's neat to take a look at these famous influential women and the social changes that took place across their younger lives and careers. The author rambles a bit much when setting up background to each section, but it was very interesting.

message 417: by Renee (new)

Renee I just finished Gone Girl last week and I really enjoyed it. I liked the ending but it felt a tad weak but overall I had a great time and plan on reading her other books.

I'm currently reading Heart-Shaped Box, which is...dragging. I'm about half way through and determined to finish it but I'm finding it hard to even have any interest in it. Usually I would drop the book if I wasn't enjoying it but for some reason I keep thinking this will get better. Has anyone read it before...does it pay off to keep reading?

message 418: by Raya (new)

Raya (rayaha) I just finished Illona Andrews first book in their new series "Burn for Me" - I really enjoyed it! Can't wait for the second one to come out! The world building was excellent as usual and I really like the main character.

I just finished this one too! It was recommended to me by a friend and was pretty disappointed when I found out that I had to wait for the second one to be published.

It was surprisingly funny. I loved it!

Joe Arkhurst | 1 comments Hello guys I need feedback for my first chapter on my journey to completing my first kindle fiction eBook called "the nerd effect". I would really appreciate if you do so.Already have 6 chapters.

message 426: by Cas (new)

Cas (elventempest) | 90 comments I read A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas in a ridiculously short span of time (one day) and I was so so drawn in. Not particularly inventive, but I really feel the writer formed very intriguing characters and pace and a world I really wanted to know more about so highly recommend it. I want more of it, which counts for something!

message 427: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Bangerter | 15 comments Following on from the Uprooted hangout I have just finished re-reading The Darkangel by Meredith Ann Pierce. It was almost like an out of body experience, like I was reading it over my 14 year old self's shoulder which made my shoulders tingle. Weird!
The main thing I remembered was the "romance", which is a small fraction of the story and through adult eyes is well creepy. What the hell did I see in him!
Thankfully the rest of the book(which I didn't remember) was really good, an imaginative setting and a satisfying coming of age story.

Rebecca Whaley (beckers77) | 80 comments I just finished reading Felicia day's book You're Never Weird on the Internet Almost. I love it! Such a great book! I loved reading about her life!

Shalan | 36 comments Can't say what I just finished because I honestly don't remember which book was the last. Recently finished Felicia's. Also several "cozy" mysteries, with more queued up. Also recently read the Paper Magician (trilogy). In the last month I signed up for kindle unlimited, so I read a bunch of rando stuff.

Do you like the kindle unlimited? I've been debating whether or not a subscription is worth it.

message 433: by Shalan (new)

Shalan | 36 comments I decided it wasn't worth it since I'm using bookbub and my library's digital collection via overdrive. Plus it didn't have any of the 45 books on my Amazon wish list, so that made it not worth it for me. However I wouldn't discourage anyone from giving it a try

I have actually found that I like the Alpha and Omega series better than the Mercy series.
Be sure to read the prequel- on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ it's labeled as .5. Starting at Book 1 gets you a huge chunk of info left out. :)

message 435: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished The 5th Wave in anticipation of the movie coming out next year. I liked the character of Cassie, but the romance was awful and the little sexual content that existed was...painful, to say the least.

Next up is Scarlet by Marissa Meyer.

Courtney | 2 comments I just finish The Girl With Ghost Eyes by M.H. Boroson. I thought is was good, though I do wish there'd been more fleshing out of the world.

Next up is Bone Gap by Laura Ruby. A patron at my library said it was good so I checked it out.

Kathleen Cheney's previous series too, but this one was even better. Loved the characters, the magic, the world, the plot, just all the things. Seriously considering immediately re-reading it, it was so good.
