Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 5 comments Hi, my new book, The Four Kings, is now up on Amazon. It's a wizard story with four wizards taking over North America, with plenty of wizard games aplenty and debates over the role of government as the wizards set out their philosophy over their conquered subjects. It has a lot of action, magic, humour, and romance. If you like fantasy or science fiction and want to do a review swap, let me know. I'm interested in science fiction, fantasy, humour, thrillers, mystery, and non-fiction.

You can email me privately at [email protected] or send a private message to me through my account at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.

Cg Chase | 1 comments Hi all,

I have a Choose Your Own Adventure style zombie novel on Amazon, that has done well so far but failed to really take the next big step. Would be glad to swap for reviews.

I would definitely be up for a book swap. I have several verified purchases also, so if you do too, we can probably send each other free review copies. Would also be glad to write a review on good reads in exchange for a review from you.

message 558: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Bracha (ryanbracha) | 134 comments Hi all,

my number one (in its genre) best selling debut novel, Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven't Killed Yet is free for 5 days on Amazon. Please feel free to download it. Reviews are not obligatory but enjoyment is preferred. If anybody does want to download, and review, and have something they'd like me to read in exchange I'd gladly do so, just add me as a friend or message me. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi or YA or romance, but you never know, just get in touch, thanks in advance for your downloading support. Also, I will happily pay for something if it looks like the kind of thing I'd be into and will likely give a decent review to, it doesn't matter if you picked any of my work up for free. For another thing, if you enjoy the debut you can always pick up the sequel for cash money and the balance would be restored ;)

Here's the blurb and some words by other authors...

"Not your typical thriller by any stretch of the imagination." - Keith Nixon, author of 'The Fix'

"His enthusiasm, insightful characterisation and understanding of what motivates flawed people drives his story forward with force and pulls you into his world. And what a world it is." - Mark Wilson, author of 'Bobby's Boy' and 'Naebody's Hero'

"Reading this book was like watching a flake of snow, slowly rolling down a hillside. Before you realize what is happening it bets bigger and bigger until it slams you in the chest. You are carried along by the weight and brilliance of it, gladly allowing it to carry you off into oblivion." - Craig Furchtenicht, author of 'Dimebag Bandits'

What do you get if you cross a French sex addict hitman, a self righteous left wing blogger with a spam problem, a racist bar room regular and his penchant for porn, an American gangster with a lot of reflecting to do, a small time journalist who dreams of the big time, a weak-willed loner with a Victorian lion hunter alter-ego, a flamboyant PR guru and his devilish plans, a very recently unemployed call centre drone, an old man with a hell of a grudge, and A LOT, of dead bodies? You get this.

The naked corpse of a young man is discovered with his throat sliced open on a cool autumn morning in a park in Sheffield, northern England. By an elderly dog-walker, as usual. He is the first of a rapidly increasing number of seemingly random killings in the city, all in that same way. This leads to a frenzy of media and public speculation, where everybody is a suspect, and everybody has an opinion. Daisy is pointing the finger at the media, rookie journalist David is dreaming of future awards for his coverage of the whole thing, and Terry blames the Asians.

What's actually happening is a far more sinister affair which threatens to spiral out of control. Across the city Tom, call centre outlaw, cast out for his lack of respect for faceless voices, is drinking and snorting himself into a collision course with some very very bad people indeed, how it will end, well that depends on how much of an outlaw Tom's prepared to be.

Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven't Killed Yet is a funny, satirical, sexy, and very violent tale of poverty, addiction, the fickle finger of fame, love and questionable mental health.

Next time you'll maybe want to look that gift horse in the mouth.

I would love to swap with other authors. It's a great opportunity to get feedback for both parties involved.

My book is "Soul Seed", it's a YA Fantasy.

Landra had long since given up playing mage, a magick user. When she hears a voice in her head telling her to save the Prince, she thinks she’s crazed. Never had she considered that she may actually have magick. This will be the start of an adventure that will change her life and a world she’s never known.

"Soul Seed" is available on Amazon.

Jessica (jessicasimko) | 2 comments Hello, I am a new author and my book was just released on Kindle last week. The official launch is not until Feb 1 (hard copy and book stores). I am so overwhelmed by all this. :). I would love to do review swaps with several/many people. My book is non-fiction and applicable to anyone working in the corporate work culture. I am an ex-Director of HR and suffered immensely in the games and drama at work. And then I wrote about it and blew the top off Corporate America. The book is called "Why Can't I Be Me? Understanding and Rising Above the 'Fake it to Make it' Work Culture". It's appropriate for any person trying to find a job or stay sane/advance at work.

I have a publisher managing this launch process so I don't have control over the price of the book. It's $9.39 - I hope that's not to pricey. Please let me know if you are interested!

Justin Fenech | 21 comments I am looking to swap reviews for my first short-story collection:

My first short-story collection is an anthology of thought-provoking narratives that take literature and readers seriously. We writers have a responsibility to challenge our readers' complacency and to provide society with the thought-experiments only fiction can deliver truthfully.

We are a literary animal and fiction is our best means of problem-solving and self-indulgence. This collection tries to provide that with stories about conservation, the Taliban, and the immorality of charity - to name but a few.

Jeffrey Carl (jeffrey_carl) | 17 comments I wrote a quick summary on how friends, supporters, and advocates for independent authors can help. I'd be interested in more thoughts or ideas. Then we can use the parts we each like when friends or family ask how they can help us as independent authors. Let me know what you think.
How to support an independent author:
There have been many times friends and family have offered to help me as an independent author. What are the best, or most impactful ways to help independent authors? There are many ways supporters and advocates can help.

Grouped by High Impact to low impact (not in any particular order within the group). If there’s a cost associated, it is noted with $$.

High Impact:

Write a review on sale links (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, I-Books, etc.). Nothing helps others decide to purchase a book more than positive reviews.

$$ Buy the book either an e-book version or paperback, sales are tracked and recommendations are made based on sales volumes.

â€ Rate the book with Stars (no written review). This can be done on all sites where the book is for sale, (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc., plus Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.com). You usually need have an account and sign on to whatever site you are on.

Borrow the book on Amazon Prime Kindle Owners Lenders Library if available. ($$ Amazon Prime Required) It costs you nothing more to borrow a book from the Lending Library but is tracked similar to a sale and provides some revenue to the author.

Medium High Impact:

â€ Add the book to your bookshelf on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.com (you need an account, but it’s a good site for readers)

Find written reviews helpful on Amazon or other sale links

“Like the Author Page on Amazon or other Author pages

â€ Follow the author on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.com

Low Impact
“Like the Author’s facebook page or posts Follow the author on twitter

 Follow the author’s blog

I would like to add in the high category, Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ self-serve advertising. I have it linked to my Amazon sales page and the conversion rate between click and sale seems to be around 25%-40%. (I can't be exact until I get a larger sample size.)

Thus far, for every 2 to 4 clicks I am netting one sale. Each click is costing me 10 cents, therefore each sale costs me 20 to 40 cents. That is a net of $1.85 to $1.65 per sale.

I put in $20 or 200 clicks. If the stats remain true, I should net between 50 and 100 sales before the $20 runs out.

I will be writing a blog post about how it works out after the ad run is complete.
