I've wondered that myself. I was in SF a week ago, and noticed a lot of coffee shops that had used book shelves. I was thinking about leaving them there. I have also tried to give books to libraries, because that would be a great place to have them recirculated. Unfortunately, most of the time they say they will staff it or something, and don't know where the book ends up. I agree, though. Dropping the books somewhere that they will see more circulation is great.

Peter John | 52 comments This is a great idea. I would love to participate in some review swaps. I guess I prefer Paranormal, Science fiction, fantasy and thriller but I'm open to try most genres. My book is Dead Medium by Peter John http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

I don't own a Kindle so I prefer to buy the paperback version, though I can read kindle on the P.C.
Many Thanks and my kindest regards

J.B. Morgan | 1 comments Hello all! Looking for reviews to swap.

My book is about a young American man trying to fit in after moving to Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong, he dates a conservative Chinese girl with a racist family. Every other chapter takes place in the past, when the young man lived in Texas and dated an impulsive American blonde with a drug addiction. Because the two women are so completely opposite, every other chapter will carry with it a very different tone and atmosphere.

Let me know if you're interested by contacting me by email. [email protected]

I would love to participate in a purchase swap review. Although my novel Angel’s Breath is a paranormal fantasy, it does not seem to sit well with everyone who likes this genre. It also takes some time to read In addition to that, it is self-published and not professionally edited, as I’m currently unemployed. I have done my best to clean it up, so there shouldn’t be too many hang-ups.
If anyone is interested in swapping, I recommend that you read the prologue available on Amazon first. If that works for you, please let me know, and perhaps we can swap either digital or paperback versions.

Here is hoping,

Yvonne von Innes

I will take you up on this, Yvonne, if you like. My book is 'A Bag Of Dreams'.
Excuse the impertinence but I would like to point out that there are too many books using the same title, also I think you should work on the description. It is written in short, terse sentences that are unpleasant to read. for example:
Your version:
Angel's Breath is an unconventional vampire fiction.
It embraces elements of architecture, religion, and romance.

More reader friendly:
Angel’s Breath, an unconventional story about vampires embraces other elements as well, such as architecture, religion, and romance.

best wishes,
Will Phillips

You have a good point, but I feel that my title is appropriate and can’t help that others have chosen a similar one.

I also appreciate your remarks on my book description, which I will look at more closely. My writing style, however, does not have a friendly, happy-go-lucky feel to it (hence my disclaimer).

Thank you for your offer. I wish that I could take it up. Unfortunately, the theme of Death in Hollywood is not something along my tastes. I don’t watch TV or follow actors, and do not shop at stores which display magazines

Your premise is interesting, and the environment you write about is real. It should be made public and discussed. I just can’t stomach suicide and murder at this point in my life.

Thanks again for your input,

Yvonne

Robert | 53 comments HI Yvonne;
I read the prologue, and it looks interesting. Check out my current book, 'Look Not Unto the Morrow,' a Vietnam-era, anti-war story. However, based on a comment you made to another potential reviewer, it may not be of interest to you. You can see it on Amazon.com, or my website: .
If you are interested, you'd need to give me a week or so. I have a couple of other books I've promised to read and review first.

You evidently don't read closely either. The book title is 'A Bag of Dreams, but I'm afraid that it too is on sale at stores that sell magazines. Most of my books are. I knew it was a mistake to offer criticism. Most authors simply want praise and yet undeserved praise won't help sell 2 cents worth of books.

Ouch!

Willard, the lady said you had a good point about her title but felt it was appropriate. She said she appreciated your other remarks and would consider them. She said good things about your other book (an easy mistake to make if she just clicked on your name to get to your book) and she declined politely to swap with you.

I don't think she deserved your acidic comments about wanting only undeserved praise and that only friends have reviewed her book. I know we all want to add to our reviews but easy does it here.

Des Sloman | 7 comments Hi Robert,

I have "Look Not Until Tomorrow" on Kindle and started it this morning. I'm hooked - Roger has just received his call-up notice, and there's an undertone things are going to get intense. I'm keen to read on & will draft a review when I've finished. I haven't received "Desertion and the American Soldier" yet but Amazon tells me it's on the way. Sorry about the delay starting on "Look Not.."; until yesterday I've been tied up with Vassily Grossman's monumental "Life and Fate". Cheers, Des

These are my four books on Amazon.com & Amazon.co.uk
Chasing Dreams in Lefkas

IT MATTERED YESTERDAY

A Moment to Remember, To Forgive Divine

Granny’s Magic Garden

I also have one book only on Amazon Kindle called, 'Nobody's Pets' In Cyprus. Stories about the dogs & cats I have rescued using the proceeds from all my books. All my books are edited by myself, since I need to save wherever possible so I can help the poor animals. This is why I can not afford to put my books on free. It is a sad situation here where ill-treated, abandoned dogs need help and also feral cats. It's only a drop in the ocean, but every drop counts! :-) Thanks for reading. Diane Griffith

Sometimes people use this media to make personal attacks for private 'old reasons.' It's sad!
