And, today, I passed my Ambulance Driving qualification and tomorrow I'm driving for my first event.... Scary stuff!!

I have this one on my bookshelf - a nice big hardback I got at Goodwill.

I had the audio one it was a pretty big to : )

There's a new cupcake coming.
It's mad and it's bad.
Some of you will be humming.
Some of you will be glad.
It's called the "Triple Threat"
And as it's name implies...
While it isn't a sure bet,
It increases your book count size.

I'll post the August challenge in a minute or two, along with a thread in the sister group which I will try and link to. The way we'll do it (if you're all happy) is that we'll just read and fit them where they go. If you pick one from a specific person's shelf though, let me know for that one :) (all should make sense shortly)

Between the team, we will read:
7 books, one set on each continent
15 books to spell ATOMIC TANGERINE
6 books which are number 6 in the series, have 'six' in the title or series, six words in the title/series/authors/combination as August was the sixth month of the Roman Calendar until it was named after Caesar Augustus.
The remaining 47 books to reach 75 should be spread between the following categories with at least one in each category:
- Books read by other team mates since January 2013
- Books read by people in other teams since the challenge started
- Books featuring different forms of transport on the cover or as a main part of the story
- Summer tales (set mostly in the summer or with either 'summer' or 'sun' in the title)
- Books set in Ancient times as August was a busy month in ancient history, for example, Mount Vesuvius erupted in August 79 AD, the last day of Roman Civilisation was in August,
- Books which inspire you as several inspirational people were born or died in August and famous speeches were made (for example MLK gave his speech in August and Elvis and Marilyn Monroe died in August)
- Crime books as The Great Train Robbery occurred in August.

I've just finished rereading

I went a bit overboard the other day on a trip to the library and found quite a few books I wanted to read. I also found the next four in the Game of Thrones series (I've got the first one but haven't read it yet) in a charity shop. I managed to buy those four and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell for less than one of the G.O.T. books would have been new! And they're all in brilliant condition!! :)
I'm going to have a look at the cupcake puzzles later - hadn't realised there were more of them - and I'll see what I can do, I want to try and help more with them this month! :)

I stopped getting notifications for this thread for some reason and I just forgot, to drop in and say hi, but I have been reading. I have finished 12 books since my last update and have marked them all (i think!) for the Tower II Challenge on my shelf. Some may not count if moderators decide they won't (one was a beautiful hardback edition of everything wolves, over 300 pages, but it does contain photographs ~ absolutely gorgeous ones (!) along with all the information. If anyone here loves wolves I would highly recommend

Congratulaions Claire! Fantastic accomplishment :-)

I read through the August Challenge and I will try to read books that fit the challenge and then Claire you can slot them in where needed LOL
Congratulations Claire on your accomplishment!!! I bet you are glad it is finally over :)

Good morning :) I went to bed after that message !!!

I stopped getting notifications for this thread for some reason and I just forgot, to drop i..."
Thank you Cathie :) I've not been getting all the notifications either. I love wolves, I'll have to keep a lookout for that one :)

I read through..."
Oh Robin, I hope you feel better again soon. Thank yoiu as well :)

Good morning :) I went to bed after that message !!!"
:D I'm off to sleep now! Got a busy day tomorrow, going to London to see a friend.

for some weird reason my computer doesn't show the slide puzzles ! I have to do them later on my tablet !

I've just finished rereading

I definitely plan on going on I heard they get better as go in the seris : )

The HP books definitely do get better as you go on, the writing gets more grown up as the characters grow up (or at least that's how I feel).
I've updated the August challenge spreadsheet. We're now more than 25% towards the goal (yay!). Would you all mind checking the spreadsheet every couple so often just to check that you're happy with where I've placed the books? I will update the thread too but that won't be til later today :) The links are in the first couple of posts here :)
Thanks! Happy Reading!

Livvie's Song by Sharlene MacLaren. I think it should count for:
Summer - it was set in the summer
Transportation - there is a car on the cover.
Crime - there was a kidnapping in the story.
Spell - the author's name is MacLaren
