There are no set chapters per day, we just read at our own paces and start each post with how far along you are, using spoilers where needed. Have fun!

I'm excited for this one! I've heard such mixed reviews of it! People either love it or hate it, it seems. After this one, this Moon Dwellers is up for me David. :P

I own a copy of Shatter Me for quite some time already and am looking forward to finally starting it :). And the buddy reads in this group are always so much fun! I am looking forward to reading it with you!

I will join in on this discussion, I LOVED this book, and I'm so excited you are finally reading it, David! I also read the novella. I REALLY recommend reading the novella before you read the sequel, Unravel Me! Its $3, but its $3 well spent!

I so hope you guys like this one! The writing style is very different, but it really gives the MC a voice!

I really like this book. It was like Hunger Games meets X-Men.. but I find the second book better.

I can't wait for book 2.5 & the 3rd book :) I'm so so excited!

I just started this and am now 12% in, but so far it's not really good. Not really my kind of book so far, it's depressing and nothing really happens and I want to learn something about the characters, the world, anything, but it's just more of the same and then we get some small pieces of information. I hope it get's better soon.

Wow, really Lola? I'm the complete opposite! Lol I guess that's what makes reading interesting, everyone likes different things ;) I'm completely and utterly enthralled with the poetic nature of the writing, the subtle world building, and the uniqueness of the main character. I feel like each line is a delicious piece of dessert! I love love love every bit of this book so far!

Oh sorry, I'm now 30% in (view spoiler)[ omg I can't believe that the touch of her skin actually kills people. I sort of suspected it, but it was still crazy that I was right. And she gets some twisted enjoyment from it. Weird! I really wonder what Warner's master plan is for her and also whether other people have developed strange powers and why. <\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

I just finished Stitch so now onto Shatter Me! :) I'm excited to start this one.

I don't know why, but for some reason the writing style really annoys me. And it's so depressing and I want to know more about the world, but so far we don't get much of that. I actually am contemplating until which page I should read before I can put it on my DNF shelf.
I do like the strike throughs, they are original, although I wonder what excatly they are supposed to mean. Thoughts she doesn't want to think? Things she surpresses?

I'm not going to lie. When I initially opened this book and saw the strike-through text I was like umm, did Amazon send me the wrong copy!? It was when I initally started using my new Kindle (yea, I've had the book for a while) and I was thoroughly confused. lol!

Love the strikethroughs! I think they are truths she doesn't want to admit. That's my guess anyway. Try to get to 32% Lola before you DNF it. Some really intense stuff happens, the villain is awesome, and the world building really picks up. I don't know if that will be enough though if you don't like the writing style but I hope so!

I think it does. The more time Juliette spends with Adam, the slightly more stable she gets.

So I just started and I feel a bit of a flashback to the way The Road was written (i.e., what happened to all the commas?!). But I think I can get used to it. Now I just need to get used to the strike-through thing. I think it's an interesting concept. The only place it really annoys me is when someone is saying something to her and there's a strike-through. I understand it more when it's in her thoughts, but not so much when it's a quote from someone else.

There is also a sentence when she says something and part of the sentence is striked through, I mean what does that mean. Does she says that or not? or only thinks/not thinks it?

I'm only about 10% in so far and still trying to figure out what I think of the writing style. I'm not 100% sure yet.

At some times I think I'm starting to get into it and I really like it and other times I feel like I'm in a creative writing class. I think it may just be a matter of getting used to it.

I ended up reading until page 78, 23% into the book, but I am putting it down. Reading this feels more like work than than fun. I don't like the writing style and I just can't find a reason to keep reading. So this wil be a DNF for me. I really hoped to like this book :(

I was pretty annoyed with the writing style, I admit. I did find it very poetic and pretty but I kept getting distracted by it and would fall out of the story. I've read book 2 so do like the series overall so far and the world building.

I'm 60% in, devouring it! Although parts of the writing style are getting somewhat repetitive, she still manages to surprise me and make me go "Wow, what a beautiful way of saying something so simple". I could do with less romance and more action, but is has picked up somewhat. (view spoiler)[ if suspected Adam might be able to touch her, so I guessed that right. It's also weird how he never gets cold, I'm wondering whether he might have hidden powers too. And eek! Warner was able to touch her too? Not good! Oh and what about her punching through the concrete? Holy Shnikes!

Some flaws: waaaay to convenient all the stuff about the nuclear area and them being immune to radiation and Adam stowing away a tank for them to ride in. Just sayin' lol (hide spoiler)]

So I'm about 23% in and getting more used to the writing style and starting to enjoy it a lot more! I think it was just an adjustment I needed to make.

Right now, Adam reminds me a lot of Alex from delirium. But I love Alex *sigh* (sorry, I had to daydream for a minute). But I'm really starting to get into it!

Also the strike through thing slowly disappears as Juliette comes into her own. She is basically editing her thoughts because she has no self worth. As the series goes on, she starts to gain more self respect, and as a result, there are less and less strike through s.

YAY!!! I'm so glad you like it! I'm sorry you didn't, Lola, but its seems to be that kind of book--you either love it or don't!

I think the writing style takes some getting used to, but I actually grew to love it! Its so beautiful!

Jenny, you don't get it because you haven't read Destroy Me or Unravel Me. ;)

Really? I love him.

I need to see what Warner does in book 3 before I make my final decision. ;-)

@ Jenny - Warner will confuse you on Destroy Me & Unravel me. ;) But I'm Team Adam, Team Warner & Team Kenji :D
