The Civil War, Vol. 1: Fort Sumter to Perryville
Haven't read it but was persuaded to watch Shelby Foote's comprehensive history.

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Hi my phoneline's been dead for a week so am catching up. Aren't 272 and 286 the same? Is this OK or do we have to suggest new books?

People should try not to repeat but it is bound to happen sometimes.

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) OK thanks. Wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been flicking through! :)

One hundred shades of white. By Preethi Nair

(read in 2009)

message 284: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 16369 comments @Alannah - It so hard for me to judge what you might think about it as I have read it multiple times starting in childhood. Parts of the writing are a bit sanctimonious I guess, but fitting for the characters & time (clergyman's family during the American Civil War - which is Alcott's background also).
