I don't think I know the rest of you so I'll introduce myself. I'm D.G., 37-years old, married with no kids and I live in NYC. This is my first time participating in a challenge in this group - that's why I'm not volunteering to be captain (Jennifer PP and I were teammates in another group.)
I read all sorts of stuff but my main genres are romance, UF, fantasy and mystery. I also listen to audiobooks A LOT. With my new job, I'm listening to audios during the week and reading ebooks during the weekends. :)
For our first roll, I'm hoping for one of two spots (I won't tell you which ones...don't want to jinx myself, LOL!) but pesimist that I am, I'm sure we'll get the spot where I have only ONE book that qualifies. :)

Let me introduce myself also. I'm Jennifer, I will be 42 on Sunday, I'm married with a 19 y.o. son. I'm from Ohio. This is also my first time participating in this challenge. Right now I'm captain of another team challenge so I would prefer not to be captain here but if push come to shove I can do it :)

Well then, let me introduce myself too. I am Tineke, 25 years old and living in the Netherlands. I'm a single mother of a 4 year old girl, called Laura. I am also busy with studying English Language and Culture at the University, so one book a week is possible. I'm hoping to throw in a bit of Hamlet, but unfortunately that's not a serie. Hamlet is one of the current reads for my study, as well as The scarlet letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
I read about everything and am willing to try everything, although I ofcourse have some genres that I read more than others. I also tend to read a lot more in English than in Dutch, my mother tongue.
I am currently reading The Tudor Secret by C.W. Gortner.
Well,thats about it I guess.

My name is Jennifer and I just turned 34 this past Friday. Looks like us Jennifer's were all born at the same time! LOL Happy Birthday Jennifer PP. :)
I am single with no kids and I live in Pittsburgh. I work full time, and one book a week is perfect for me. I'm trying to work on getting my series load down, but I think this challenge could go either way. I may end up adding a bunch of new ones. Oh well! We'll see how it goes!
I've never been a captain before. I guess I could if no one else wants to. What exactly does the captain have to do? Roll every Friday and post the prior week's reviews? Anything else?

Roll the dice, keep track of what's everybody read and then post timely when everybody's done. Because there's a time element to this game - if we are not all done by the next Friday, we cannot move on the board - you have to check on people if they haven't posted their reviews and we're getting close to Friday and also you have to be available to roll on Friday once everybody's done - which could be early if we are all done early or later if we are all done later that day. In general, the captain must be able to check in several times a day.
I'm not sure of the requirements here...I assume we need to post a mini review once we're done (to make sure we read the book). In the other game I'm in, the captain is supposed to verify that the book fits the theme (at least if it doesn't look like it fits) but I've played other games which is on the honor system. Not sure how it goes here.

State the spot, date finished, title and author, rating and review. The review doesn't have to be fancy but a few sentences stating your thoughts, etc.

I was in a similar game a while back - that one was all about cover colors - and this is how I did the posts.
Tenacious Terrors: Week 7
Book:

Spot + Color: #104 Green
Rating: ★★★★
Finished: Mar 12, 2013
Review: This book was definitely an improvement over the last one. It was more focused (way less characters) and the plot was really exciting and the villains were so frightening! I LOVED the inclusion of Jack and George and I liked how seamlessly they were integrated in the plot.
The interactions between the boys seemed so real that I definitely felt Gordon's handiwork. :)

Yep, we are suppose to come up with a name. I stink at coming up with team names.

Roll the dice, keep track of what's everybody read and then post..."
I can do all of those things. Hopefully I don't have to do a lot of chasing though. I can roll before work on Friday if everyone is done which would be between 6AM and 7AM EST. If everyone does not have their book finished by then, I can roll after work around 5PM EST. It would help if everyone would post what they are going to read for the week as soon as they can and then update that same post with their review when they are finished. That way, I can have the links created ahead of time. Something like this...

Thank you! And I'm terrible at team names too. I'll try and think of something though.

That link will take you to Jenne's post where she has the Dice Roll, etc... How do you get the link to say "Dice Roll". Like if I wanted the above link to say "Jenne's Post", how would I do that?

<*a href="INSERT LINK HERE">INSERT TITLE HERE<*/a>
Just remove both * and it should work.

The Captain won't be able to roll until we are all done with the week's book so that depends on all of us more than anything. :) I shouldn't have a problem.

I should be able to be done with my book on Thursday nights. As long as everyone else can too, I'll definitely roll in the morning on Fridays.

Thanks Megan! I think I was missing the space after the a at the beginning. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. I guess that was it. I'll try it again later.

Let me know if you're interested and I can share it with you.
ETA: Jennifer C. I'm going to start calling you Capn JC. I have to edit my post everything because I forget that the Jennifer PP is also a teammate!

The Saucy Vixens
The Tasty Tarts
Vicious & Delicious
The Intrepid Hellcats
I'm partial to them all...after thinking about cupcakes, lots of food related names came to my mind!

I'm OK with that. What do you think, Tineke & Megan? If we all agree, I'll let Jenne know.

I meant only this first roll because who knows the following weeks, but hopefully we'll be able to read everything by Thursday each week so you can roll early every Friday. :)
Here's hoping to a good roll!

Review:
This books starts out after the fire at Spencer’s house and the girls are trying to figure out if Ali is still alive or not. They all thought that they saw her during the fire, but the doctors told them that it was a halucination due to smoke inhalation.
Emily gets a text from A telling her to go to Lancaster undercover as an Amish girl, and finds out some interesting secrets about Office Wilden.
Spencer finds out lots of secrets about her family and comes clean about losing her college fund to her surrogate mother.
Aria starts to get close to Noel and believes that Alison is trying to communicate with them from the dead. She tries to find out what Ali is trying to tell them through seances.
Hanna is having more issues with her dad and his new family and ends up in a mental hospital.
Then all the girls are arrested for a minute, but then the “real killer is found. It’s never the real killer. It’s hard to keep these books straight because I watch the TV show too and they are completely different. There are so many people still on the TV show that have been killed off in the books. That's so funny since #8 was my least favorite option. I have a ton of book #3's to read this month, and I was kinda hoping for that, but kinda not since it's such a low number. I had to add another book to my huge list of books to read this month. I wasn't planning on reading Heartless this month. It should be a quick read though.
No problem on the early roll. I'm up now getting ready for work anyway. Speaking of which, I should probably go get ready! :) TTYL

Title/Author: Persuader by Lee Child
Spot & Series #: 7
Date finished: 2/12/14
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Persuader is probably among the best in the series so far. The book had the usual hallmarks of a good Reacher book: tons of action, hooking up with ladies, schemes, etc. However, it differed from others in that we saw some of Reacher's life in the military through flashbacks. It was interesting to know what his life looked like when he was an MP - I had no idea he had been in charge of a group of people! There was emotion in this book too: regret and pain the most important among them. Reacher is such a hard man that it was good to see some emotion coming from him.
I have to say though that I was a bit shocked when he said he had wanted to be a cop all his life. It sort of saddened me what his life is now like even if his reasons for being wanting to be a cop weren't all black and white.
Really looking forward to the next book!

Title & Author: A Heartbeat Away (Quilts of Love #7) by S. Dionne Moore
Series #: 7
Spot #: 7
Rating: 2.5 stars
Finished: February 14
Review:
This book sounded like it was going to be one I would love, it's set during the Civil War and is about a romance between people from opposite sides, but I just couldn't connect with it.
I loved the heroine grandmother, she was such a great character! The way she took care of everyone she could, no matter what color uniform they wore, was wonderful. I loved how she explained why she was doing it to Elizabeth.
There is a lot of repetition, which is always boring to me. Though the romance was sweet, it did seem very rushed and that's something I don't like at all. The way things were told made it very hard to understand what was happening or did happen - for the longest time I was trying to figure out what was the cause of Elizabeth's injury.
The part the quilt plays in the story, while touching, felt forced and a little too much.
All in all, this book was okay. If the synopsis sounds interesting and you want to read it, this is one I would recommend borrowing first.
I received a complimentary copy of this book to review. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.

Review:
Atticus and Oberon what a pairing. Refreshing new take in the Supernatural genre. Atticus the druid saves the earth and battles gods from every pantheon, while his faithful hound keeps Atticus busy with his many demands for sausage and French poodles. Great fun! Loads-of-action! I highly recommend this book and have already requested the next book in the series from the library.
