Review: I loved Captivate! The world was amazing as was the story and characters. At first I was thinking it was about mermaids being a sea story and all but it was a pleasant surprise it was an under sea adventure.
There was no magical or paranormal stuff involved just a breathtaking abduction and love story that sucked me in and left me actually rooting for the "bad" guy Marco in the end. There were a few parts I almost cried and for a story to have that kind of effect on me.....it was really good.
I longed for more and didn't want it to end! The title totally fits as this was a "captivating" adventure!

So we can read a 4th or 1st in series or the alternate which is read a book from the audio link

I will read the 4th book in a series for this week,

I hope you like it! I had very mixed feelings about this book and I still haven't seen the movie.

Review: I listened to the audio version of this and felt it was done quite well especially the transitioning between the old and the young Jacob. Interesting story about the behind the scenes of a circus but parts, like the abuse were a bit hard to bear. I have not seen the movie but I almost always favor the book over the movie any day!

I'm really enjoying my book and will be done on Friday latest. Not much reading time this week because work has been crazy busy.

The usual Kristen Ashley book with very alpha hero and silly heroine, who gets in the middle of some catastrophe and this formula sometimes gets on my nerves hard. Not this time, though.
Gwen had some softness in her and she was not a total airhead and Cabe had more layers to his character than the macho-alpha surface.
As always with Ashley's older books, the story dragged sometimes but her unique style was there and overall a good book.

I hope you feel better soon Jennifer!!

Review: Ever since her 10th birthday, Ruby has lived in a prison camp for kids. There is a "disease" that manifests between the ages of 10 and 14 that gives kids extraordinary powers. For their own safety and the safety of the adult world, these kids have been secluded in camps and forbidden to use their powers. One day Ruby has the chance to escape the camp, but she has no idea what's in store for her out in the real world. She'll have to decide who to trust and fast all while trying to prevent her power from hurting anyone...again. This book was about 200 pages too long, but it was entertaining. It reminded me of X-Men. I do wish that Ruby had used her power more to help herself. She was a bit too timid at times. The ending didn't leave me dying to read the next book, but i might read it some day.

Charley Davidson is the Grim Reaper with a knack for crazy antics. The world-building in this series gets better with each book and I enjoyed learning more of Charley and Reyes' backstory in this installment. The chemistry between them is always sizzling. There is plenty of humor, action and an entertaining cast of characters to keep me turning the pages. I will definitely continue with the series and look forward to reading the next book.

So we can read a 5th in series or a stand alone or the alternate which is read a book from an J author.
I changed my mind. i've been wanting to read
Horns, so I'll read that for this week's stand alone book.

Finished 3/16/14, 5 stars!
I absolutely adored this book!
This was a story about finding a peace of mind, a place in the world, dealing with heartbreak and moving on. All this in mesmerizingly beautiful prose with great characters and a teeny-tiny touch of magic just like Sarah Addison Allen does best. This book made me smile with it's positiveness, goodness and beauty.

This is the fifth book in Abbi Glines' Rosemary Beach series. I love Woods and Della together and enjoyed the conclusion to their story. There was a big twist at the end that I did not care for and I wonder how it will set up for future books. I really like that each book catches up with previous main characters like Blaire and Rush and continues their stories as well. Looking forward to Grant's story next. So glad that he is not with Nan, but I'm sure she will cause her usual chaos.

Review: Sadly this story was about 200 pages too long. When I read the synopsis it held so much promise for an interesting story like a big mystery leading up to Luna's mother's death but it got on my nerves more than anything else.
First off Luna was not a very likable character to me but then again all the characters seemed a bit edgy or incomplete. She's a bit childish on the one hand and too big for her britches on the other. She is supposedly falling in love with a guy across the street and is bashful towards him one minute and daring him to kiss her the next?
Then there are just minor things like her mother has been dead for like a year but her father has not cleaned her loft out downtown nor cancelled her cell phone service and this is how Luna stumbles upon her mother's cell phone having messages on it because it is still plugged in and on charge just like the day she left it. And that's another thing...her mother died when she got hit by a taxi on the street corner. I would think she would have had her cell phone on her person? Who leaves home without their cell phone now a days?
I can't say much more without giving the whole thing away but I will say it was not what I was expecting. If your looking for a big mystery or love story don't look here.
This week has been rough. First I started Horns but was not really enjoying it (interesting premise, but the characters aren't very likable), so I switched to Every Day and finished it, only to find that now the author is planning a sequel, so it's not a stand alone anymore. Ugh! So now I'm reading Aunt Dimity's Christmas (Aunt Dimity #5). I should be finishing tonight.

Review:
Lori is looking forward to spending a cozy Christmas in her English cottage with her family, but her plans are interrupted when she finds a tramp unconscious outside her home. Her father-in-law has him flown to the nearest hospital, and when Lori visits him there, something about him makes Lori determined to find out who he is and why he was trying to reach Dimity's cottage. With the help of Julian, a local priest from a homeless shelter, Lori travels around England discovering the truth about the mysterious man's past.
I haven't read a cozy mystery in a while, but I think they usually have a murder as the central mystery. So the format of this book was a bit different than what I'm used to. But it seemed like it might have been published around Christmas time to remind everyone of "the reason for the season". It was a nice story, and it did encourage me to be kinder to vagrants on the street, or at least to think kinder thoughts about them, because we don't know what they've been through and what led them to their current circumstances.

Very cute romance by highly praised writer Kristan Higgins and my first book by her.
I liked it. Very colorful cast of characters and I really liked that author picked a slightly unconventional heroine for this type of book. She was boyish, bony, insecure and not at all that stereotypical beauty we have gotten used to in this type of books. The single dad - motorcycle guy hero was slightly neurotic and maybe a bit overwritten. Add some really cute animal characters which always win me over, and flowing, smart writing style, you got good entertaining romance. I'll be looking forward to read more by this author.

Everyone must be reading :) and I feel quite alone cause there isn't even any books chosen for this week but mine.

Looks like a cute book for little girls and why not for bigger girls too!

Review: This is a cute story about two girls who try their absolute best to get out of being flower girls for their aunt's upcoming wedding. They feel they are too old to be flower girls and want to be a bigger part of the wedding like maybe the chefs! LOL
It's a hilarious story because the harder the girls try to prove how they should be able to cook for the wedding instead of being flower girls the more messes they get into!
Really cute and has some awesome recipes included!

Review: Lori is visiting Wyrdhurst Castle to look over a book collection to see if there are any rare or valuable books to be acquired by her former employer, and she soon discovers that the castle she is visiting is not only haunted, but due to Lori's connection to Aunt Dimity, she finds herself being influenced and controlled by another ghost. This is a classic haunted house tale where you're not quite sure if someone is gaslighting the lady of the house or if the creaks and moans at night are the works of a real ghost. Lori also discovers some old love notes hidden in the books she is examining. She teams up with Adam, a local writer, and Nicole, the lady of the house, to discover more about the writer and receiver of these notes and to find out if the castle really is haunted. This was an enjoyable cozy mystery. I enjoyed the haunted parts as well as the love story that Lori helped discover. Lori did come across as a bit of a flirt -- she seems to be captivated by every bachelor she meets when her husband isn't around -- so hopefully her husband will stop leaving her alone so much in future books. I don't think she can handle it!

Lucy and Clifton have a second chance at love after years apart and Lucy is now a widow. While they seem like an unlikely match, their romance is fun to watch as it develops. The author's writing style is the perfect mix of mystery, romance and even a little humor. I also enjoyed revisiting characters from previous books in the series and getting a glimpse of characters in upcoming books.
