Date read: November 30th- December 24th Rating: stars Category: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller Summary: Sherlock Holmes in A Study in Scarlet is about Sherlock Holmes and John Watson solving the case of the deaths of two men from the US. Sherlock and Watson go to the home where the first victim was found and discover a number of clues of who might have done it, how the man died and what could have possibly lured the murderer. The second man was found stabbed in the heart with blood on the wall and all around him. Then it switches to the story of how the murders came to happen and what made the murderer mad enough to kill the two men. Eventually Sherlock finds the killer. This man is brought to the police station and is told that he might be sentenced to prison. The man then tells of how he had killed the victims and why he did it. He eventually dies from a ruptured aneurism in his chest. Personal Opinion: I gave the book five stars because it was well written to keep me wanting to know what was going to happen next. It kept me rereading the chapter before to see what I had missed. I loved how the suspense balanced out with the mystery. What made the book interesting throughout was how the characters treated one another.
