Hey there, newcomer! :-) Please, read this before you begin

Now this thread will be automatically bumping every minute or so. It does involves magic of course. I only hope I won't be banned on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ for this.

I would like to suggest the book "You're never weird on the internet. Almost." by Felicia Day. It's an inspiring book that I loved reading I will almost definitely read again.

Kaitlin! You got the right idea, but the thread for posting book suggestions is not here, it is: /topic/show/...

I don't know if this helps and I don't even know if this is an urgent task for you - but I found the following guidelines on how to organize the forum with folders and adding threads to folders. I'm not sure but wouldn't this help to organize and give the forum more overview?
How do I add a discussion thread to a folder in a group?
1) Navigate to your group's page.
2) Click on "Discussion Board".
3) Click on "edit folders" on the top right (see image -- click to enlarge).
4) Click on "add a folder" on the top right to start adding folders. As soon as you have your folders, you can start adding discussion threads to them.
5) Click on the discussion thread you'd like to add.
6) At the top of the page, click "edit" next to the thread's title.
7) Next to "folder", select a folder and save.

He is not :) (wait, you're a he, right, Ash? )

Yep :-) This is not my real name because the real one is too much work to write.

I'm a regular member without any special privileges. We just tried to elaborate some basic rules for all to prevent this board from being as chaotic as it could be. We even figured out a possible structure for this board, with folders and naming conventions, and sent our suggestions to real moderators, but they are basically out of reach. Still waiting for their reaction
Some topics are just plain useless- maybe one of the Moderators should delete some topics, or create folders. (Welcome, Current BOTM Discussion, Books We've Discussed, etc.)

I'm not quite sure you're in the right topic for that discussion XD this is a thread to list out some guidelines for people to follow

My apologies, I had to switch off my laptop for a few hours

Definitely. Actually, without real moderation there is a possibility for this group not be able to stand for long. I don't want to explain the mechanics in public, but there are a multiple threats that only a real moderator can prevent. The question is - who will appear first, moderator or villain.

I see two options:
1. Reach for our real moderators, make the situation clear for them, and wait for their whatever actions. We've tried many times, no luck. Emma's twitter may be a good place to reach for her though.
2. Create an another place to be able to move people on it in case of emergency. A new platform could be safer and easier to administrate. But it is a very difficult task in itself and it may take a lot of time.

I suppose they've received a thousands of messages since this board was announced. So there is a scarce chance (while it exists) that they actually open their mailbox at all.

I had started my own forum with a friend of mine so that we could be excruciatingly detailed with organizing our various projects. What was so brilliant about it is that it on my own website where "necroposting" and "Foreign languages" can be allowed, and we can do it our way and theme it our way to the Nth degree - right down to every single emoticon allowed. The alternative would have been to get a "special forum" on a rpg ace game maker forum (not enough control), or use one of the gazillion racist forums out there that allows you to have a free forum as long as its in English. FYI: None of our games are finished or suitable for public consumption as we are rubbish yet. And the stories we write are just first drafts and often NanoWrimo (National Novel Writing Month) productions.
@Kytriya -- It is not so much that goodreads is hard to keep organized, because, to me, it is the easiest site to organize that I have ever been on. It is just a matter of having active moderators to ensure everything does stay neat and tidy. ^^ An example of how neat a group can be when organized can be found here.
On a side note, did you finish NaNoWriMo last year? If so, congratulations! Me and some of my friends have done it. One has been published from a few years ago, and one of them finished with me in 2015.

As an example, you could have: (dumb example! Sorry!)
Level 1: Each heading is a different story title.
Level 2: Various cities that is in the story.
Level 3: Places within the specific city.
Level 4: Items within those places.
My forum is private and requires a user account in order to access it, so I can't give you a working example.
For this group, I'd use something along the lines of...
Terms and definitions --> ABC order of boards by term --> Various topics of discussion on term.
Minority Issues
--> ABC order by Country (Country is the name of the board).
--> ABC order by Religion
--> ABC order by Race
--> LGBTQ (name to be whatever is the most inclusive according to what members of this group wants with the most inclusive name winning)
--> Pro-abled (often referred to as disabled)
etc.
Something like that. I'd seriously would have to think about it more as I think I'm on the right track but leaves much to be desired. rofl

Is there no way to pin messages on here?

Is there no way to pin messages on here?"
There is, but only by moderators. So far the moderation is very low, and only Emma's own topic on this month's book is pinned.

Its an automatic message thing they're prolly not online rn haha

Savannah wrote: "You don't need bumper messages anymore, Ash. ^^"
Oh yes, I can now switch off my laptop whenever I want. That's so cool!

You really made a difference, thank you so much!

This problem can be solved by moving this thread in "general" folder, for example.

Task number one, delete this (now duplicate) thread? xD
I will be sad to see it go... It sort of felt like a little project of like-minded people within a project of like-minded people :P
Anyway, I am glad we can now really just focus on the goal of this Book Club: Reading and Discussing book on feminism! :D
This topic has been frozen by the moderator. No new comments can be posted.
Hi, Elizabeth! It is one of the biggest threads, so I am sure more people will see this soon. Have a good day :)"
Just giving it a bump in case
