Spring Cleaning Readathon Progress
Brittany, I found it really interesting! It's definitely a different read, but it works so well! I'm definitely planning on checking out the sequel, although I'll keep your comments in mind! From the synopsis, it sounds an intriguing way to take the story!
Just finished book 3! A novella from NetGalley: The Communication Room

Everyone's making so much progress! I almost managed to finish my first book last night, For the King's Favor. Could not keep my eyes open any longer!

I finished Anything for Him By LK Chapman last night, now I've started Seed by Lisa Heathfield.

oh, lots of interesting sounding books! I started Snow In May. It is a short story collection set in russia, all the stories take place in the same village (Magadan) at different times. The interesting thing is this town is closer to Alaska then to Russia, but yet it is where one of the most infamous work camps was. It is a differet read. My favarite story was "The Witch" where a little girl with constant un resolved migranes goes to see "Baba Yaga" as she thinks the witch is. It was a story about how strong kids can be and blind parents can be.

Thanks for the reiew, this sounds really good.
I listened to about half of Brothers in Arms yesterday while waiting in a doctor's office after work yesterday. (Yes, I should have been grading papers.) It made the wait go much more quickly.

Hi Brittany, I have Cress and Winter waiting on my bookshelf and will read them straight after the readathon. I've got a good pace going on and although I'm ignoring the washing up etc and feeling like I'm lazy, I am thoroughly enjoying this readathon.
Just finished UnHappenings. I was surprised at how good it was. Really enjoyed the main character and would read another of this author's books, no problem. It was free and it was brought to my attention through Bookbub.
That's two science fiction books read, now onto my third which is a fantasy called Stolen Songbird.
Camile, your welcome! It is the authors debut book, but she definitely has a talent with words! I am hopeing I can finish that today and that'll give me two days for An April Shroud... But I have to see what all books I get twomorrow too!

Yay you! Took me monghs to read this one!
Fuzzy Nation!!!! I've got a copy of that somewhere. Must check out the Wheaton reading. :D Hurrah!
Just started Station Eleven!
Very intrigued by the first 50 pages. I admit, the literature geek in me is loving all the Shakespeare references...

It is really good :0) and haunted me for quite a while.

Wow! Well done! Might be reading this one later in the year.

On the plus side, finished book 4 (Bitter Kingdom) :0)

Sounds interesting i will have to get a copy :)

*High five*
I have 20 pages left. Sooooo close. (I liked this but I think the story telling of Anna Karenina was much stronger for me. When not talking about Napoleon and war, the characters felt like they belonged more in a CW tv series.)

I loved Stieg Larssons writing and i've been put off buying this book because I can't decide if someone else taking over the series will do it justice. I'd love to know how similar you find the writing style.
My progress so far...
196 pages of Missing Pieces
82 pages of The Return of the Soldier
199 pages of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
Total 477

I found the characters at war are interesting but the history parts less so. But getting this read is an achievement, no matter the timeframe. You're in the home stretch!
Just finished my fourth book, Station Eleven! 5 stars from me, and you can check out my review!
Debating which book to start next now...

Happy Belated, Jenny! And Happy Upcoming, Veronique! Books are the perfect gift! (And bookstore gift cards!)

I just finished my 3rd book - The Girl in the Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz. It was good but I definitely enjoyed the first 2 books in the series. I wanted to read it to see how much the writing style changed. Found I just couldn't remember! :)
Not sure what I'm going to read today. Off to figure it out. Enjoy the last day.
Veronique happy birthday to you too! Abd thanks everyone! I got The Crown, a collection of vampire stories and the manga Model vols 1-6

Jenny - great books! I'm getting a 6-month subscription with Persephone books () woohhooo! but also War and Peace, the Book of Phoenix, Seveneves, Arcadia, An Ember in the Ashes, Printer's Coffin and a couple of Penguin pockets - from lovely husband (he spoils me but then it's just him and me, no other family).
Not sure how much I'm going to read today but I am very pleased with my first readathon:

Book 2 - Crown of Embers - 410 pages
Book 3 - Fuzzy Nation - 343 pages equivalent audio
Book 4 - Bitter Kingdom - 433 pages

It wasn't my favourite to be honest. I loved the Narnia series but this one was a little more disjointed. A short easy read that I had on my shelf - definitely sci-fi, but with a strong Christian perspective - more so than I found with some of the Narnia books. I do like how imaginative he is and may continue to read the rest of the triology - if I can find it!
