Gianna | 289 comments I'm trying to decide my choice. I'll have it tomorrow for you.

Looks good, Diane! The only thing it doesn't have that you would normally need is how it fits the category. But since it's a new to you series, there's no way to link anything to it. Well done!

Diane, that looks awesome, all you have to do is add the date finished and you have a great record for the the team. As long as it has the info and is easy for you to confirm, that is the most important thing!

Finding You (Bad Boy, #1) by S.K. Hartley by SK Hartley

Rating: 5 stars
Review: I loved this book. It is such an emotional read. I lost count how many times I cried in this book. The main character, Neva James, is torn between her love for two men while dealing with her father's death. One knows about her past and her nightmares and the other doesn't. It also has a cliffhanger ending so I had to buy the next book to see what happens next. I would recommend this book if you like emotional roller coaster reads.

Jane, if you would check my postings in message 47 and see if it is okay, I would appreciate it. Let me know if I need to change anything, add, etc.

Looks good Diane - to make it easy, just add their completion date (don't worry about the rating etc) once they have finished and posted here, AND you know their posts comply with the rules. And you are done :)

The Boss (The Boss, #1) by Abigail Barnette The Boss by Abigail Barnett, 327 p. per GR
First in The Boss series.

Completed 5.31.14, *3 Stars*

I am not sure how I feel about this book, probably just three stars for me. There wasn't anything really wrong with it, but a good part of the time I was reading it I was really frustrated. I liked and then didn't like the characters. (And at times really didn't like them!) The story was good and then it was slow. Yes, frustrated is the best word. And I truly hated the ending. I get that the big new thing is what seems best called the 'soap opera book series' because that is really what it is like, but I want at least some sort of ending to each part of the serial. I did not get any sort of resolution with this one. Though I would like to know what happens, so for a change I wouldn't mind if someone spoiled this series for me! Not sure if I will continue, but certainly not anytime soon.

Phantom Evil (Krewe of Hunters, #1) by Heather Graham Phantom Evil by Heather Graham

Finished: 06/01/14
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review

Intriguing tale, the first in the Krewe of Hunters series. I enjoyed watching the team come together and meld into a unit. The basic question, was the guilty party human or a ghost, was not unusual. However, Heather Graham straddled a fine line and did it with a master's touch. The team made their own beliefs in ghost apparent but kept an open mind as to whether it was a ghost in this case. I really like the character of Angela and seeing her come into her own. I found Jackson fascinating. I hope to read more of this team in the other books of the series.

Shadowland (The Mediator, #1) by Meg Cabot by Meg Cabot
4 Stars
This was fun! My little sister just spent several months in NYC and my uncle and his family moved to CA years ago - so the culture clash in this book felt just perfect! Suze is tough with a gooey center and a very likable if unpredictable character. I loved the three step-brothers and their distinct personalities and felt they worked well to pull the story along and keep you grounded in the real world (versus supernatural).

Gianna | 289 comments Diane T. wrote: "Can I ask a stupid question? Well, I'm gonna ask anyway...lol. How do I post a link to the reviews?"

It's actually really easy! But it sounds difficult. This is what I do:

1. Right click on the time stamp of the review post and select Open Link In New Tab.

2. In the new comment box, click on (some html is ok). I copy and paste the coding for Link (2nd option) for each review that will need to be done.

href = "http://www.goodreads.com" > my link text (this is what it will look like, except with out the spaces)

3. Copy the link from the address bar of the review post and paste in between the " "...but you need to remove what is there now.

4. In the html where it says 'my link text' replace it with whatever you decide. I usually use 'review' or the person's name.

Does that help? If not let me know what you think might help you.

L.A. Candy (L.A. Candy, #1) by Lauren Conrad by Lauren Conrad 2 Stars 6/1/14

I was thinking this should be a good book. It's a New York Times Bestseller but I think it made it on the list because of the author not the storyline. The book was very slow to follow. I had a hard time getting through the chapters. This books follows the lives of two girls Jane and Scarlett moving to LA to make it on their own. It's loosely based on the life of Lauren Conrad which I found out after starting to read it. It was full of young adult drama but just not enough to capture an audience's attention. I don't think I'm going to read the next book in this series but I wouldn't have known if I hadn't read it.

I'm confused (big surprise...lol). Are you talking about the time stamp above the post, like the one that will be on this one when I post it? Or are you talking about finding the review for the book elsewhere? When I right click the time stamp here, it just opens the whole page in another tab.

message 115: by Gianna (new)

Gianna | 289 comments Yes, the time stamp that appears on the post of the review. It does open the whole page. However, when you make it a link like you're wanting to do, when you click on it, it opens up to that exact post at the very top of the screen.

No, you just put the URL you want to link between the quotation marks replacing www. goodreads .com (spaces added so it doesn't make a link) and then you put whatever you want between > and < where it says 'my link text'. You could say 'my review' or 'week 1 review' or anything you want.

message 125: by Diane T. (new)

Diane T. (tickledpink49) | 254 comments OK, try and try again.

message 127: by bamaace83 (new)

bamaace83 | 1259 comments I'm trying to learn how to post a link through all y'alls posts and to say I'm confused would be an understatement! Could you just copy link location and that work?

message 128: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 30372 comments I typed up these instructions some time ago, maybe they will help. The first is to link to a post and the second is to link to a shelf.

1.) You can just click on the time/date of your post, it will give you the url for that post in your browser. Copy that and paste it in your reply.

Or if you click on (some html is ok) in the upper right corner of the reply box it has instructions. Basically, you copy:

< a href=" http: //www. goodreads. com ">my link text> (I added spaces so it didn't post a link.)

If you click on the time/date of your post, it will give you the url for that post in your browser. Copy that and paste it in between the quotation marks and then put 'Jodi's challenge' or whatever you want to call it where it says 'my link text'.

And I hope I explained that so you can understand...

2.) Start by clicking on (some html is ok) in the upper right corner of the reply box. Copy -

< a href=" http:// www . goodreads . com " >my link text< / a >

I added spaces so it wouldn't make a link. Copy the URL from your shelf page and put it between the quotation marks. Then where it says 'my link text' put your shelf name or whatever you want. Hope that helps. You use the same process for any link you want to post, but if you want to post to a specific message, click on the date/time of that message before you copy the URL.

No idea, it took me a while to get it. Go to your original post, right click on the time and open it in a new tab. This puts it at the top of that tab. Go back to your original tab, go to the comment box, click on (some html is ok). Copy the link coding into a comment box. Go back to your new tab & copy the http. Now back to the original tab and your open comment box. Replace everything between the " "'s with your new tab http. Where it says >my link text you can put whatever you want to call your link, My Review or whatever. Does that help at all?

message 134: by Gianna (new)

Diane T. (tickledpink49) | 254 comments Today or tomorrow. I wasn't trying to rush you, just hadn't heard from you :)

message 136: by Gianna (new)

Gianna | 289 comments No problem! I like when someone looks for me. I've just been busy in RL and haven't been on the comp much. Hopefully after today I'll have more time (that isn't dedicated to sleep). I'll have it done though!

message 137: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 30372 comments You don't have to finish within the week, but you can't get two books behind. So there is no hurry Gianna! But I know we all like to finish things up before moving on to something else. You can't change the book after the announcement on Friday though.

message 141: by Gianna (new)

Gianna | 289 comments I keep saying I'm going to cut back on challenges. That hasn't worked yet. I have 3 that end on June 30th though. And one that starts July 1st. But I think after the few team challenges I am on that I'm going to take a break for them :(

Looks like however you had it to start with was fine Diane. Sorry for any confusion :)
