I apologize for starting this so late. Was super busy with school.

Our January theme will be "Firsts" in honor of the start of a new year. What does that mean? It could mean:

*Your first book by an author
*The first published book by an author
*The first book in a series

You can use any of these to pick a book, but other considerations for group reads apply.

Here are the other considerations:

1. One nomination per group member. The books must be nominated with a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ link by clicking on 'add book/author'. If a book does not have a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books need to be readily available, ie, in print (able to buy new or in ebook format).
3. Books should have some degree of action/adventure content.
4. Past group reads are not eligible to be nominated again. The past group discussions remain open for members to comment. You may see the list of past reads here:

/topic/show/...

5. Books must be either standalone or first in a series (or they may be later in a series if constructed to be read as a standalone).

Please feel free to include a blurb for the book so others know a little about the book, along with your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ book link.

The poll will go up on December 23 (shorter time period so book can be voted for by January 1st).

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Quarry by Max Allan Collins is the first published & the first I read, I think, so I'll nominate it. The First Quarry is actually first chronologically, but doesn't need to be read first. I don't see any books by Collins in our bookshelves here & we should rectify that. Besides, Quarry is a lot of fun, a rather snarky assassin.

I'll nominate Storm Front it's the first in the Dresden series as well as Jim Butcher's first published novel.

Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher

I'll throw my vote in with Jim.

We've already read this one in the group. How about The Aeronaut's Windlass

The poll is up. Mike I substituted The Aeronaut's Windlass for Storm Front, since it's the first in a new series by Butcher.

The poll will close on December 31st. I sincerely apologize for the lateness of getting the January group read nominations going.
