Oh, no! I have a problem with task # 1.
I've been very scrupulous recently about only adding books to be "To-Read" shelf if I'm sure I want to read them. I didn't add any books between 11/13/2016 and 2/6/2017. And I really don't buy books any more, unless they're not available at the library.
I do have 4 books added to my "considering" shelf during the required time period. Should I use one of those?

Very bizzare. In my search for a book with more than a million ratings that I'd like to read, I went to this page:
/shelf/show/...
I discovered two possibilities there,
Looking for Alaska
by John Green (ŷ Author) (shelved 9704 times as young-adult)
avg rating 4.10 1,235,615 ratings published 2005
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)
by Ransom Riggs (shelved 7545 times as young-adult)
avg rating 3.88 1,161,771 ratings published 2011
But for each of those books, when I follow the link to the book's page, the number of ratings is lower, way less than a million. So I'm not sure if they would count.
I don't have to resort to choosing a Harry Potter book, but I'm having trouble finding books I haven't read that are eligible for this.
Ideas?

Susan, have you already sorted your tbr shelf by number of ratings? You can add num of ratings by going to your tbr shelf, click on settings and click the box of num ratings. Now you can sort your tbr based on the number of ratings. Maybe that way you can find one with 1 million ratings.
If there isn't one on the list, you could try this shelf:

Ah, how smart that would've been! I didn't think to sort I just looked through the entire list, looking at the rating for each book. But I don't have a single book on my TBR or "considering" shelves that has more than a million. Several I've already read (including most of the ones you found), but none waiting.
That listopia you found will be perfect for browsing. I was looking for one, but didn't find it. Thanks.

@Susan: yes, NYT YA list counts & yes, you can use your 'considering' shelf... Most of us don't have considering shelf and just add to tbr so that works ;)
Other than that, I see Lusie has it all in hand, thanks, Lusie! x
