I've been wondering the same thing!

The Power

Elizabeth is Missing
Girl at War
Stay..."

Ahhh dalex I couldn't get the last book Luminaries. But I did figure they were all Women's Prize for fiction. Worked on that last night when I was bored. Yay team

Traci (tracibartz) | 1264 comments I just finished The Robber Bride during lunch, which also happened to be published in Sept 1993. So, I marked off task 8 and we have one book to go for task 24.

Katie | 2360 comments Laura said that one of the other groups has requested a second game board since they're mostly done theirs and it's only Monday. We're in that same boat. There are 7 days left in the read-a-thon. Would you guys be interested in a round 2 of the team challenge with a second board to uncover?

message 106: by Pam (new)

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3768 comments I would!

message 107: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 281 comments Count me in!

message 108: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments why not

message 109: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments I just finished Abridged Classics: Brief Summaries of Books You Were Supposed to Read but Probably Didn’t It is a graphic novel, so I don't know what it can be counted as, but it has 156 pages.

message 111: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 639 comments Yes, new board for sure!

message 112: by Ira (new)

Ira | 354 comments That sounds good.

message 113: by Erika (new)

Erika | 30 comments I like the idea of a second board too. I just finished Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson and read 333 pages today. Not sure if we can count it towards the new board or not? It would be a thriller.

message 114: by Ann (new)

Ann S | 624 comments Old board, new board wherever needed. I finished Good Neighbors Only thing I see on the new board would be female main character #21. Otherwise 244 pages.

message 115: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 281 comments Oh, task 24 is complete!!

message 116: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments I finally read my poem: Dulce et decorum est by Wilfred Owen about the horrors of WWI.

message 117: by Katie (new)

Ira | 354 comments I red my poem: Ithaka by Konstantinos Kavafis

message 119: by Ira (new)

Ira | 354 comments Plus I finished reading The Runaway Jury by John Grisham that is 358 pages, so I have reached 500 pages

message 120: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 639 comments I just finished the audiobook of Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. It filled my five hours of audiobook and the remaining pages finished up 100 for me in the first box. It’s also non-fiction.

I know we’ve filled those for the first board, so I assume they’ll go to the second.

message 121: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1264 comments I just finished Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin A. Abbott. This works for 7. author born in 1950 or earlier on the second board.

Traci (tracibartz) | 1264 comments I just got a request from Johanne to be able to edit the spreadsheet. Is there anyone else who wants access and is not able to edit? I tried to make it editable for anyone with the link, but it may not have worked.

message 123: by Johanne (new)

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 1668 comments Hi Tracy, I was just trying to make it work from my iPad, went on that because it didn't update the spreadsheet on my phone... But it works fine on my computer and has all the time, so no worries.

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
The new team board is being posted now, in the main topic. I'm going to remove the completed prompts for the sake of keeping things a little more simple.

The new board will be a continuation of the read-a-thon so the book, audio, and page totals are for all reading since the start of the read-a-thon. They can simply be tacked on to your current totals.

message 132: by Katie (last edited Aug 28, 2018 06:39PM) (new)

Katie | 2360 comments So it looks like I had access to the spreadsheet before but now I don't have access. I just put in a request.

We have 5 squares left on our first game board, so if someone can tell me if we've completed any of them, I'll get that board updated. (Tasks 2, 11, 15, 17, 24)

message 133: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 281 comments Katie, task 15, 24 and 17 (with the change of rules) are complete!

message 134: by Vanessa (last edited Aug 28, 2018 06:49PM) (new)

message 135: by Chinook (new)

message 139: by Pam (last edited Aug 28, 2018 08:18PM) (new)

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3768 comments I don't have access either but sent a request.

I read 1 children's book Ghost Ship for #13 AND it counts for ATY (my children's challenge).

Almost done with Jack Glass for 19.

#7 Favorite book to movie adaptation: Stephen King's short story The Body to movie Stand By Me.

message 140: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 281 comments My favorite book to movie adaptation is The lord of the ring trilogy.

message 141: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1264 comments I'm not sure why it became inaccessible. I responded to all requests. Here's a new link that I said again should be shareable, so hopefully it works for everyone.

message 142: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1264 comments Actually, I think that's the same link, so I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe there's an issue with both the link and the requests? Feel free to request access if you need it! I'll try to be good about checking email!

message 143: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1264 comments I put Flatland into 2-12, F-A-L-L in the title.

message 144: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 639 comments For 23, every member participates in making the 2019 list, I assume that since I’ve made prompt suggestions and voted, I’ve filled that task?

message 145: by Erika (new)

Erika | 30 comments I’m currently reading Black Rabbit Hall by Eve Chase and it can go towards 2, having trees on the front cover.

message 146: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 639 comments I have looked through a lot of lists of book to movie adaptations, but it seems I’ve almost never both read a book and watched the movie. So, of the ones that came up and I think are good, Remains of the Day and The English Patient.

message 147: by Pam (last edited Aug 28, 2018 10:33PM) (new)

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3768 comments I finished Jack Glass for #19.

#Katie - For our 2nd Board, you can uncover tasks 1, 6, 12, 16, 19, and 20! We are off to a great start!
