Woo hoo! It’s great to see you here, Christina! Oh, it warms my heart that you’re enjoying The Bromance Book Club and my audio listening has made a difference in your reading choices.
Welcome, welcome!
Welcome, welcome!

I wasn't a fan of audiobooks until a few years ago when I was working two jobs that had me spending at least 13 hours a week on my commute. Someone at a library conference had recommended Libba Bray's Beauty Queens to me to get started with audio. Libba majored in theater in college, and she's QUITE the performer. To date, Beauty Queens remains a favorite audio of mine. It was already a book I'd enjoyed, but her performance and the production of the audio put it on a whole other level! If you haven't listened to it, I highly recommend. Nowadays, I always have an audiobook going (unless I'm taking time out to binge a McElroy or romance podcast).
I'm sure you can tell if you look at my submissions in the reading challenges, but my favorite audios to listen to include Sarina Bowen, Christina Lauren, and YA fantasy. Some of my favorite individual audiobooks are Illuminae trilogy, These Broken Stars trilogy, Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy, The Kiss of Deception trilogy, All These Things I've Done trilogy, Beautiful Player, Brooklynaire, Moonlighter, Dirty Rowdy Thing, and Boy Toy.
Hi Mary! Thanks for posting and sharing your listening experiences. I’m a recent CL fan and still need to listen to those you’ve listed as favorites and also loved the Daughter or Smoke & Bone trilogy on audio.
Welcome and I’m glad to see you participating in the discussions.

Welcome Mary! I love the name of your blog.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy is such an amazing experience on audio. That narrator nailed it.
Glad to see you around and look forward to participation in the discussions.

I am also the kind of person that rarely buys books, I usually get them through a free source.
My favorite genre is Erotic Historical. (not to be confused with Erotica) Though I must confess that I get board with a female lead that is overly girly and prim.
Some of my favorite books have been the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon and the McCabe Series and The Montgomerys and Armstrongs Series by Maya Banks.
Looking forward to suggestions that I might enjoy and discussing great books!

I'm also a reader, so I've enjoyed switching between the two mediums.
Currently my favorite romance sub genres are historical fiction, paranormal and menage..With some mystery/thriller thrown in. Sometimes dark romance and erotica fits the bill..so fairly broad strokes!!
I've recently started interacting with GR members and I enjoy reviews, both writing and reading ; this seems a good platform to continue with!

Welcome!
Cassettes not embarrassing. My first were on 78rpm shellac records though I have no idea where my grandfather found them. I also listened to a few on reel to reel. I also read print and ebooks in variety of genres.

Welcome! It's wonderful how many sources there are for books. Now if there were just more time to read them...

My name is Sarah; I wanted to join this group and introduce myself as I have just recently started listening to more audio books....I am hoping to also find more suggestions."
Welcome. Glad you've discovered the joys of audio. Look forward to seeing you in discussions where most are very happy to suggest books.

Welcome, Susan! Hey, I remember when I listened to books on cassette (The Clan of the Cave Bear, The Pelican Brief) and wear that distinction with pride! I’m just happy for the digital age now. And I also loved Davina Porter & Outlander.
We look forward to you participating in the discussions!

I too remember when I did cassettes...as a matter of fact I had them delivered on a subscription to my house and when done returned them. My first was the Malory Family saga.😊

Welcome Susan.
Welcome Susan.

I'm Dakota Willink. I'm a romance author, although I'm not really here to pimp my books. I'm just someone who is addicted to audio! I used to read 3 books a week but since becoming an author five years ago, I found that I had very little time to read like I used to. I discovered audiobooks a little over two years ago while proofing my own audiobook and I haven't looked back since. It's the only way I can get my fiction fix!
I love to share all things audio related and run a large romance audiobook Facebook group called Audio Bookfly. Together with 3 other amazon ladies, we try to keep the group a fun place to hang out. I'm constantly talking about audiobooks with my author "tribe" and try to give pointers about how they can turn their books into audio - the more books on audio the better in my opinion!
My favorite audiobooks to date are:
- Infidelity Series by Aleatha Romig (totally additive family saga)
- Belong to Me by Shayla Black (sexy & full of angst)
- Obsidian Series by Victoria Quinn (so hot the sheets were on fire)
- Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan (oh, my heart...the emotion was off the charts)
- Fluffy by Julia Kent (laughed out loud through the whole book)
- In His Silks by Patricia D. Eddy (super steamy suspense)
- Ghostface Killer by MNever (total badass heroine)
- Priest by Sierra Simone (addictively sexy yet oh so wrong)
Anyway, that's me! I'm not super active on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, but I do pop in here a few times a month. I'll be sure to check this group for recommendations when I'm here!

Me too, all of that. :-) Except I preferred the first cassettes of Outlander by Geraldine James. X

I am an avid reader and listener of paranormal and fantasy romance. I have at least two stories going at the same time via ebook, book, or audiobook. I have three sets of recharging headphones to make sure I am never disconnected. For years I have had a job where I was able to listen to audiobooks while working and commuting.... and now that I am jobless... let’s just say that one expense I refuse to give up is my Audible Escape package.
I am here to meet likeminded people and to get suggestions or recommendations of new authors and books. I have SO many favorite authors, but the ones that are always forefront in my mind are Jennifer Armentrout, Kresley Cole, JR Ward, Gena Showalter, Angela Knight, Lynsay Sands, Michelle Rowen, Molly Harper, Eve Langlais...okay, sorry, I’ll stop here.
Thank you so much, and I look forward to being a part of this group.

Welcome! Seems we share authors.
Big welcome, Lauri! So sorry about the job loss and hopefully audiobooks will be a great escape. Speaking of which, completely understand you holding on to Audible Escape, especially now. It’s a robust inventory for romance lovers.
Let me know if you’re still having trouble navigating Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. I put together a series of “How toâ€ posts that might be helpful.
Enjoy!

Congratulations on the book, Karen! Yes, I think the pseudonym is wise as I’ve even confused her for you in the past.

Yes, it happens quite often!

Most definitely have done that before. Congrats, Karen and welcome to the group.

I am aiming to get the next book out late fall. It's tentative title is FORGET ABOUT ME. (and back to writing...)

I am glad I found this group because I have been enjoying audiobooks since a friend told me about trying them from the library. I still love to enjoy reading but I love a really good audiobook because they let me enjoying books when I can't sit and read. I also love that sometimes if the narrator is good it can take the book to another level of enjoyment as well. I hope to find more good audiobooks and talk about them as well.

OMG I think I just found heaven! I’m so glad I found this group. My name is Tina and I’ve been a romance novel ready since I was a teen. (Loveswept back in the day). I was a crazy reader in my 20’s and 30’s. I moved, switched careers, new relationship and just didn’t have the time to sit and read. So after 12 years of pretty much not reading ANYTHING, I now discovered audiobooks and I’ve jumped back in. I work part time from home and am an artist and I’m catching up for lost time, I swear I listen to a book about every 2 days. It’s amazing how much one can clean while listening to a book. I also use the kindle ap for reading in bed but I have to say I miss holding a novel.
Audio books are so new for me and man, it really matters who narrates it. Some just don’t cut it for me and i can’t finish it, so I’ll hopefully get to it in e-read form.
I subscribe to Scribd, but the audios available are limited and the local library online ones through the Libby App.
I’m gradually looking at the forum here and enjoying finding new authors. I’m not proficient in forum postings but I’ll muddled through.
My favs when I was reading: Julie Garwood, Julia Quinn, Nora Roberts, Lisa Kleypas, Linda Howard, Jude Deveraux.
Question, Do some books have multiple narrators? Meaning if one narrate on Scribd will there be another on for audible? It would be work going to another company just to not hear certain voices.
Thanks for having me!
Tina
