12/23: has a lot of books you can download for free. This is perfectly legal because the books belong to the public domain. There are a lot of great classics such as , , and . You can download the books in different formats (ePub, PDF, etc).

12/22: Our group has grown so much! Thanks everyone :) Remember to add your book to our bookshelf as well as to your topic (edit your title, add book). Feel free to invite your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and Facebook friends to the group.

12/21: Things may be a bit hectic around here until the new year. I did not plan on our group being so active so quickly! (Although I am very pleased it has turned out to be that way.) So please don't worry if you notice discussions getting moved around and what not. We are currently under construction until after the holidays.

12/20: Don't freak out if things look a bit different. I changed our profile picture and cover photo.

12/20: I have created folders for weeks 1-10. I will not be creating additional folders until later. Jumping ahead is great, but I'd really like to keep everyone together for discussions. Everyone has been active, and I am blessed to mod this group! We are already up to 82 members! Yay!

12/18: Taylor is now a moderator. He will be helping me post updates and answer questions when I am unable.

Happy New Year's Eve! (or Happy New Year!) Our challenge is starting, and there are a lot of reminders and updates we need to discuss. This message will be a long one, so please bear with me.

Group Members
As I write this message, we have 565 members in our group. I guarantee by the time I press 'send' we will have way more than that. The environment here has been absolutely fantastic, and I truly couldn't be happier. Many members have messaged me saying that this is one of the best groups they have been apart of because everyone is so positive and encouraging. Our group is obviously about a reading challenge, but our first rule is be respectful. Thank you for following the rules and making this group one of the best on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ!

Mod Assistants
When I created this group, I expected about 20 members to join (50 at most). I never imagined having 500+ members! Taylor quickly jumped in to help me, but we soon realized we would need some more help! Michelle and Zaz, two very encouraging members, have gladly accepted their new roles as Mod Assistants. They will help answer questions when I'm not able to.

Announcements
I frequently post important updates on the group's homepage as well as in the Announcements thread. If you're more of a social media person, I created a Twitter account to keep you updated. Follow here!

Topic Questions
If you have questions or need clarification about a certain topic, please visit this thread. Many members created threads in the Off Topic folder, but I'd like to keep all questions in the same place so all members are able to see them.

**important** Topic Format
Some members are still confused about how to properly format their topics, so here is an example:
This Is a Book by Author
When you are creating a topic, there should be a search box that says "This topic is about _________". Please add your book in that space. This helps other members easily find novels and add them to their shelves. Also, underneath where you add your book, there should be a drop down menu with all of the available folders listed. Please select the appropriate folder (should be labeled by weeks). Do not duplicate threads. If two or members are reading the same book in the same week, there should only be one thread for that week. If someone is reading the same book but in a different week and a thread has not been created for that week yet, then a new one is welcome. Please double check and make sure you are not creating a duplicate topic.

Bookshelf
I encourage everyone to add their novels to the group's bookshelf (must be done on desktop website, not app). When adding a book, do not add a date or select 'currently reading'. This will push the book to the top of the group page. Instead, just select the book you want to add and write a short description (preferably what weeks the book can apply to). That's it!

Off Topic
This folder was created so we could have some fun in our group without clutter or confusion. Many great questions have been asked including 'What do you do when you're not reading?'. The only rule I have for this folder is to stay respectful.

**important** Readathons
Many members have shown interest in participating in a group readathon. If you're new to readathons and you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, visit the new Readathon folder HERE. There will be four events this year, and everything is explained in the introduction thread.

If you have any private questions, suggestions, or concerns, message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. 12/31: Our group is so diverse! What is your first language? Answer the poll at the bottom of the group's homepage.

Jan. 1: No new announcements at this time. I hope everyone's challenge is off to a great start! Follow the group on Twitter () for important updates. We have 76 days left until our first readathon.

Jan 4: Wow! We are almost to 1k members! Shoutout to Zaz and Michelle for being such amazing mod assistants. Taylor and I are so grateful. We are midway through Week 1 so I hope the discussions are going well!

Jan 6: We currently have over 1,000 members! I never expected the group to grow like this, and I especially did not expect to meet so many readers from all around the world. If you haven't done so already, please let us know what your native language is and what time zone you live in. This helps the mods significantly (setting dates and times for events, etc.). Thank you for being such an amazing group!!

Jan 7: We are featured! This means that there will be an influx of new members to our group very soon. If you are new to our group, here are a few things you should know:

Jan 8: Week 2 has started! Please remember to follow all rules when discussing books. No duplicate threads, either. Some new mod assistants will be joining us later and a formal introduction will be made.

Jan 9: If a folder has not been created (weeks 11-52), please do not create a topic yet. I understand some members are completing this challenge out of order, but I have not had time to create folders, etc for all weeks. If you currently have a thread created for a week that does not have a folder, delete it within 24 hours.

Jan 16: The folder for week 11 (book with a one-word title) is available. Add your book :)

Jan 19: If you haven't already, please vote in our language poll. It will be ending in 24 hours. Also, please DO NOT create weekly folders. The moderators will be doing this for you. As always, if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Jan 20: A new group poll has been created! We want to know how old you are ! Moderators are constantly thinking of new discussions and events for the group, so having certain demographics (such as languages and ages) can be really beneficial! All answers are anonymous.

Jan 24: The folder for week 12 (a book of short stories) is now available. Don't forget the "Title by Author" rule when you create a new topic for your book ;)

Feb 1: Hello challengers! I've been unexpectedly absent for awhile, but I'm back now. New weeks will be added soon. I hope everyone is having a great time with their challenge!!

Feb 2: The folder for week 13 (a book set in a different country) is now available. Don't forget the "Title by Author" rule when you create a new topic for your book ;)

Feb 2: Two new polls have arrived! What month were you born in? What week are you looking forward to this month? I hope you like polls, 'cause that seems to be today's theme! Here is an infographic based on our previous polls.

Feb 7: The folder for week 14 (a nonfiction book) is now available. Think about adding a summary in your topic, with it, some members will probably add the book to their to-read list :)

Feb 14: The folder for week 15 (a popular author's first book) is now available. It's time to discover popular authors you never heard about :D

Feb 21: The folder for week 16 (a book from an author you love) is now available. Tell us more about one of your favorite writer!

Feb 28: The 2nd month of the challenge is just finishing. We hope you discovered new books and authors you liked a lot.

The folder for week 17 (a book a friend recommended) is now available.

Mar 7: The folder for week 18 (a Pulitzer-prize winning book) is now available. Looking at the plans, most of us will read the same books, so don't forget to join the discussions.

Reminder about spoilers policy: talking about a book/movie/tv show is ok, but NEVER tell about a twist, a death or the end outside a private discussion with someone who had finished the story. It's really annoying to read about an important thing on the web, before you read it in the book.
Of course, you can comment about this important thing you liked or disliked, but if you want to say exactly what it is about, use a spoiler tag (see "some html is ok" above the text box).
Feel free to ask a member to use the spoiler tag if you see him/her speak about an important outcome. You can too send me a message asking for a temporary spoiler warning in the title (I'll delete the "offending" post if it's not edited after several days). Thanks!

How to:
- create a challenge shelf in your profile (or use an old shelf if you have one)
- copy-paste the name of the shelf in the group challenge
- select the shelf for each challenge book
The books will appear in your own group challenge and you can have a look at your progress and the members' progress :)

Very cool! Are we adding all books read this year, or only ones we read for this challenge?

Christine > Only the books for this reading challenge (if you read more than 1 book for each week, you can add the others too).
For the totality of your books, the "Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ reading challenge" is the way to keep track of them :)

Oh, I know about the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ reading challenge. I've used it the last few years. But a couple of Challenge boards I'm on have reading challenges for the board as well (total books read by all members) and want all the books read this year. Just thought I'd check.

I'm so glad you added this feature. I've come across it in two of my other groups and it's such a nice way to keep on track!

May 2: The folder for week 26 is available (a memoir).

We don't read all at the same speed so, of course, 52 books can be more or less challenging.

May 16: The folder for week 28 is available (antonyms in the title). If you missed it, there's also the week 27 one (book you can finish in a day).

July 7: Our group now has a new look and to celebrate, we now have a Facebook page AND a website! Not everything is 100% ready to go, but I'm hoping this new look creates some new motivation for those of us who are behind in the challenge.

I love the new look! It's really nice. :)

I continue to add 1 or 2 folders for the new weeks on Saturday, so don't forget to add your books if you want to discuss them.
