#51. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task

Pages: 276/GR
How it qualifies: team decided J.L. Merrow
Read: 29th September
Rating: ⭐⭐ (3.5)
Review:
A nice read with some humor mixed in. In the middle it dragged a bit and I was quite frustrated with Robert being always scared and fearful. He should have trusted Sean and told him about these accusations in his past.
Rose, one of the supporting characters, was great!
I listened to the audio, excellently narrated by Mark Steadman.

Just been looking whos won Author of the Month, and ive got some cracking authors/ books to read
May Archer, Gregory Ashe & SE Harmon 😁😁

hahaha, you've got that right! He's the king of the slow burn! He does write really fantastic sex scenes, it's just not always between the 2 MCs.

Ive only read A Friend in the Dark which was written with C.S. Poe...but its the length of the books that put me off ..although im not keen on slow burn either .
But i do want to read The Same Breath which has just come out

I really liked bk 1 of this series

I’m almost done with book 2 of A Charm of Magpies and will be starting Book 3 immediately after so I can cover the last book if you want

These ones are actually audio, but if I listen at less than 3x speed I it feels like pulling teeth with how slow it is! I think law school helped with becoming a faster reader, as there was just so much completely dull material to get through all the time lol. A speed reading course would be interesting though

A Friend in the Dark isn't a slow burn, those two get busy pretty quick - but it is a cliffhanger.
I was almost crying real tears over the couple in Borealis Investigations - that one just about killed me. They're both in other relationships throughout the series and the angst between them is practically tragic. But definitely worth it.
Charlie David does the audio, whom I adore, but he's not everyone's cup of tea.
It was my turn to do the newsletter for the blog last month and that's what I featured. if you want to see :)

Review: Bumping up my rating because this is my third or fourth time listening to this book, so obviously it’s one of my favorites. I think this series really needs to be rated as a whole, as in this book we’re only just introduced to Stephen, Crane, and the crazy world of practitioners. It’s still entirely enjoyable in its own right, but I don’t know how anyone could stop at just this book. A completely enticing start to what I know is a wonderful series

Review: Again, I have to bump up my rating a star as the sheer amount of times I’ve read these shows that they are worth more than 4 stars. This installment is rather creepy, but still has amazing dirty times, and a lot of love as these two admit their feelings for each other.

Really fun, kind of behind the scenes story... but honestly, read the Magpie series first. And Cornell Collins can do British accents at me any ole time.

Not quite as good as the previous book but I enjoyed reading it. The thing is that I didn't connect enough with the MCs. Arik was due to his past a very distant and defensive character and unfortunately we don't get Matthew's PoV at all.
Anyway, I'm definitely going to continue to read this series and looking forward to th next book. :)

It took a lot for me to get into this , it was so slow and nothing was happening , but the 2nd half was a lot better and got very exciting in the last 10%.
Sage is a bit of a wuss to be honest but hopefully now hes got his little posse behind him , he'll have a bit more faith in himself
Also ..i love the cover to bits

It's always fun, with lots of opportunity for chatting with super friendly folks. $15 is the suggested amount for gifting.

😵
If it's not in audio, I'm not likely to get it read... I actually put 2 non audios on my M&G list, I really want to read them though. Maybe over the course of two months I can finish them?!

Yup! I think Janine wanted Score, as from the reviews it looks like that's the one with guinea pigs and I know she wanted whichever one had guinea pigs in it
