Will you be able to finish by tomorrow before MKat gives the next task? If you don't think you can finish then I can
I'm almost finished my book.

All the Way (Hot Jocks, #2) by Kendall Ryan
pages: 344 kindle edition
rating: 3 stars
qualifies: published September 2019
review: I 'm so on the fence with this one because it wasn't much of a story (female struggles with a sexual relationship and enlists the help of her male best friend) yet on the other hand the relationship between the two main characters was just sweet for lack of a better word.

‼️ PLEASE TAKE NOTE! ‼️

With the challenge ending on Sunday, November 8th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Friday, November 6th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of pages read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall page count. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest page count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!

**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**

‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️

Go ahead and post your book. We need one more, since Alicia started hers we can count hers as the last one. Since we are racing to the end maybe Alicia can shout out when she thinks she will finish:-)

Ghostly Interests Ghostly Interests (A Harper Harlow Mystery #1) by Lily Harper Hart
Read: 6th November
Pages: 265
Rating: 3 stars
Qualifies: Published September 2015
Review: This is a solid 3 stars. Potentially could be a 4 but mentioning of dogs being killed puts me off a star to be honest.
This is a nice mystery I love the ghost angle. Its always my secret favourite I don't get to read enough seeing ghost books! This is done pretty well and I like the dynamic between Zander and Harper and Jared and Harper.

Rewind by Rowan Shaw Rewind
Read: 11/6

Rating: 4 Stars
Qualifies: Published March 2019
Review: This was a sweet second chance story set in France, which was different for me. I really enjoyed it, the characters were great and I loved the story. One of the characters was deaf and used French Sign Language, which was really cool. I will definitely be looking to read more books by this author.

AliciaJ | 1865 comments So after reading Kat's instructions, it sounds like we just keep reading books that fit the task and try to get the highest page count we can until the challenge ends. Do we know what the last task will be?

message 666: by AliciaJ (new)

AliciaJ | 1865 comments oops, ignore that last post, i just saw it on the email you sent Laura. I'm getting my books ready now. I'm so excited, this is fun!

message 667: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2479 comments Yes, it's HERE

My understanding was every team that checked in from today on would get this same task. Now I guess we wait for our turn to get the task.

Definitely, fun! This challenge became a favorite last round and bumped a few old favorites out of that top spot! lol

Well, I'm an insomniac, so I'll just stay up all night reading. That's usually how I get my reading done most of the time. For some reason, my brain likes to read in bed, then sleep in my recliner during the day LOL

message 673: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1002 comments Hahaa. Its not just you. I'm half asleep on the sofa but I'll get in bed and wake up!?

MountainKat | 30634 comments Here is your LAST TASK!

Read a book written by an authors whose initials are both in the first half of the alphabet (A-M) or both in the second half of the alphabet (N-Z). No pass for this task.

Books selected for this task have to be written by authors whose initials are wholly contained in either first half or the second half of the alphabet. You do not have to decide on first half or second half as a team. Each book just needs to fall into one or the other to work. If the author uses a middle name or initial, it must also fall into the same half of the alphabet as initials of the first and last names. Examples of qualifying authors would be Lorelei James, Amy Lane and Nora Roberts. Authors that would not qualify would include J.D. Robb, Sawyer Bennett and Sloane Kennedy. Also Jennifer L. Armentrout would work, but Susan Elizabeth Phillips would not. Each teammate must complete a book that qualifies for the team to complete the task. Additional books will add to the team's page count total in case a tiebreaker is needed. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

Just a Bit Wicked (Straight Guys #7) by Alessandra Hazard Just a Bit Wicked
Read: 11/7
Pages: 237/GR
Rating: 4 Stars
Qualifies: Alessandra Hazard
Review: I wasn't expecting to like this one as much as I did the last book, mainly because Vlad was such a huge asshole in the last book. But he really redeemed himself here. I liked finding out more about his past, and how that influenced his behavior. I thought Sebastian was a great match for him too.

Sonny Sonny (Texas Kings MC, #2) by Cee Bowerman
Read: 7th November
Pages: 380
Rating: 3 stars
Qualifies: author is Cee Bowerman (A-M)
Review: This was really surprising. I vaguely remember book #1 & I'll probably vaguely remember this book too.
I deducted 2 stars because of the animal abuse. I don't enjoy reading that. I get its awful and shows someone in a bad light but I just can't read it. Usually its an instant 1 star but I was less harsh because it isn't like an animal you meet and bond with. But it is talked about. A lot. Hence the 2 stars taken...

Read: 11/7
Pages: 284/GR
Rating: 4 Stars

Review: This was a pretty formulaic, but fun story with the author's signature humor. I have to say I did laugh out loud a few times during the adventures with these characters. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Review: I loved how this book was more about Seth than Lucy. A tiny disappointed in how things turned out with the senator, but hoping more information is given in the next book. Looking forward to seeing what happens next with Lucy and Sean.

Review: I was in the mood for something sweet and Christmassy and this was it! This was a fake boyfriend trope and it worked. If you are looking for a sweet, hea with realistic moments, animals, fa.ily and love then this is it. Looking forward to going back and reading the rest of the series.

Heartbreaker Heartbreaker by Julie Garwood
Read: 8th November
Pages: 520 I think this is the right page count just going by earliest published
Rating: 2 stars
Qualifies: author is Julie Garwood (A-M)
Review: I'm a little surprised by this book. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be going into this and I've reas this sort of book before and liked it but this was just I don't have a word except shrugging. Thats the reaction. These sort of cat and mouse books struggle to entertain me quite a lot but I especially don't think this was helped by the length or this book.

Finished this late lattteee last night so was too tired to post it

Review: What happened?! I was really curious about this series but it was 20% ghosts 70% fucking more girl drama and 10% pointless boyfriend shit. This is a real shame because this series could have been pretty decent. Also how is this tagged reverse harem. No chemistry whatsoever between her and the boys

Review: A very sweet lovely story. Gabe and Clark are both super nice guys who bumble their way toward their HEA. I loved the small town feel of this book, it reminds me of my own small town. These guys were so perfect for each other, but sometimes the super sweetness got a bit much for my cynical little heart lol.
