Men are more crunchy? hmmm, maybe I shouldn't continue this thread it can probably only go bad places.

message 58: by Alex (new)

Alex Willis (fightingokra) | 2 comments Regardless if I am the only male here (or in the entire group?) I do love this challenge, just wish I could read more books.

Any chance the game could become an ongoing thing with no character reset?

Steven should also stop by at one point. I'm sure he's fighting monsters and can't come now.

message 78: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments My plan was to do a character reset at the end of the year. We can see how things look then and decide what to do then.

I was going to do different lore next year too but we're awhile away still so it's still in the pondering section of my mind.

Sadly medieval coconut bra and renaissance coconut bra come up with nothing. Google has failed me :(

Or you can go the prepackaged route.

Maybe we'll have a horse quest.... hmmm...

Time for my beauty strenght sleep. Have a date with doctor tomorrow. (Need few bruises fixed before tackling next monster.)

Barliman, my drinks on tab!
See ya guys tomorrow! Same place, same time.

message 87: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Sorry! Making ye old spreadsheets :P

message 88: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2513 comments I'm loving this challenge. So much fun. I just hope this will be an ongoing challenge. With around 120-150 books read a year and an average 1-2 EXP for a book (not to mention all the books needed for leveling up your weapons) I don't have a snowball's chance in hell to take on the dragons by the end of this year.

message 89: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments ^ I agree! I probably won't be able to finish that dragon this year either so I really hope it keeps going without a character reset.

Maybe next year, you could just think of it like an expac for World of Warcraft :P New quests/lore/experiences, but you keep what you've earned up to that point so you can reach another new "end game" thing to conquer.

message 90: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments I could probably float expansion type things for next year. I'll probably start pondering it around October this year. I want to see what the top people make it up to so we don't end up with too big of a spread.

message 91: by Zuzana (last edited Jan 23, 2015 12:21PM) (new)

Zuzana | 2513 comments A couple of questions regarding the new quests, Kelly.

Re A Toy for Hadley quest, are plurals (stars, hearts, circles, ...) in the title allowed, e.g. The Fault in Our Stars? If so do I need to spell out STARS or is STAR enough?

Re Big Heart Monster, I'm not strong enough to fight it yet, but do I understand it correctly that it's going to appear again around Mother's Day and Father's Day? Any other times?

I noticed that in some of the February quests (e.g. Gift of Love or Alchemy) you can't claim EXP points for each of the books but only once all of the books are read. Is that correct?

message 92: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments I think I calculated probably about 400-500 books for the dragon, but that depends a lot on what quests are made which I don't know yet.

message 93: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments Five years from now, that dragon will feel my wrath!! *shakes fist*

Oh my! I'd just be more than happy to kill a dragon and I mean any of the lesser ones. The Novel Dragon is forever out of my reach. ;-)

Ha. If it makes you feel better Tea and I are dreaming up extra rewards that enhance your character a lot but they'll be tricky quests. One should be coming in the March update.

Star is ok.

I think the Big Heart Monster will just stick around until he's killed by each person. Right now I don't feel any strong need to take down uncommon or rare monsters since they're limited.

And yes, some of the quests you can claim xp as you go, some require it to be completed before you do.

message 97: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2513 comments Cait wrote: "Five years from now, that dragon will feel my wrath!! *shakes fist*"

LOL! My thoughts exactly.

message 98: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments lol I am honestly cool with however long it takes, I've got no problem working the same challenge for a couple years. I love the quests. Hunting down books to fill in tasks is super fun for me.

Bring on the hard quests! I'm ready :P Killing dragons aside, my real goal is to take up that "no one will finish every quest" challenge ;)

message 99: by Mary (new)

Mary (wimew) | 397 comments I can't see me getting the dragon either but my gosh I do love this challenge

message 100: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Ha, well some quests go away after awhile. I didn't want new people to have 5000 quests to look through. Plus it gets a little unmanageable.
