Do you recommend the first one? I am thinking about reading that one but it is such a long series that it puts me off a bit.

Task #1 - Read a book with an Irish character

The Gathering

This was a excruciating reading. I'll give the benefit of the doubt to the cultural and language barriers (hence 2 stars) but the fact is that an unreliable narrator can make an interesting and compelling story but this is not the case here. Veronica's storytelling just make things weird, boring and cringe. Of my friends recommended this to me and now I'm seriously reconsidering this whole friendship thing.

It started out slow and sounds like a documentary that had.no substance. The story line was okay but the characters were stilted. Baron and Mac were okay but no chemistry. The story pick up towards the end where it just got more substance then it finished. I trying to decide to read the next book.

This book had my full attention and I devoured it in less than a day. When you have a such a strong and domineering character like 𝙇𝙞𝙖𝙢 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 that's all you can do!
Wow, he was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The alpha male and the sassy woman who could potentially bring him to his knees. I wasn't quite sure where this story was heading, but I was pleasantly surprised and easily fell in love with both characters.
He was consumed with Tru, the kind waitress he'd been coming to the little diner to get glimpses of. Knowing he could never have her. Not the way he wanted. He just took the precious, short moments he could get with her while he sat in her section and enjoyed his usual cup of black coffee all while keeping tabs on her. He is silent and doesn't ever conversate with her.
That is until one night and everything changes. She decides to be a bit ballsy and be the first to open up the lines of communication. She is beyond surprised when he offers his voice in return. And what a voice he has!!!
He later steps in to help her in a dark alley and what little thread he had of keeping his distance is now quickly unraveling.
So much delicious push and pull between these two. When they were on the same page, they were explosive. Liam was broody and so protective. Not in a bad way either. You wanted that fierceness. It was beyond sexy!
This was a super fun and sexy read! Glad I decided to give this author a try!

Rating/Review: 3.5 Good start to the series. There is a big focus on the world-building what gives the book a slow pace. There are lots of questions and mysteries unsolved which I am looking forward to discover in the next books. I liked the main characters and I can't wait to see how their relationship develops as there is no romance in this book.

This wasn't one my favorites by PW. I usually love her stuff, but this one not so much. I liked both MCs for the most part (really enjoyed Caleb - more so had it been audio), but by the 40% mark I was desperate for their connection. The second half of book was better, imo.

Katrina Jackson showing how the most commons situations can make a good story. Alejandro is super sexy and I identified myself in Deja and her impostor syndrome. However, at the same time that I appreciate the author's not putting love as a solution for all of Deja'a problems, I wish that her mental issues had been better deal with. Girl, please go see a therapist.

Very well written, suspense, drama, intriguing, Meg and Nate chemistry was good. 15 year old murder of Meg father, suicide murder, and the mystery of who did it! I recommend this book if you like a good romantic suspense.

How book qualified: Stand alone book
Date Completed: 2021/03/21
Rating/Review: 4.5 This is one of those books difficult to review as you need time after finishing it to go through all the emotions. It deals with very heavy topics as loneliness, depression and suicide. The characters grew on me and I really suffered with them. There are so many people around us that might be struggling. A very hard book to read which was beautiful and painful at the same time.

Task 3 - 20. Read 4 books 300 pages or longer.
Pretty self explanatory. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count!

Me too. This is probably my favorite challenge here. I'm going to read Spider’s Revenge for this task.

I have added the first book to my TBR, I have been checking it for a long time as I loved American Queen. Looking forward to reading it!

Christine Feehan her Dark series gets better and better from the first time I picked up Dark Prince which was the first paranormal I ever read had me bitting my nails until the next book came out. Very well written drama, trauma, hot chemistry between Elizabeta and Ferro , intrigue, and suspense. I highly recommend this series!

The Dark series is one of the books that I always planned to start reading but never bring myaelf to do it 🤣

Well, it took five books to the author/editor realized that the amount of repetitions was a problem but better late than never. Finally I could concentrate only in the story what it made this book so much better than the previous ones.

My least favorite of the series so far. After I all those pages, I feel pretty let down with the story. One of the big things from book 1 as just an after thought in this book. That thing was what captivated me and intrigued me. With that said this book WAS NOT lacking in the hot factor. Not at all! I sure hope book 4 is the winner.

Task: Task 3 - 20. Read 4 books 300 pages or longer.
Book/cover link: Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Page numbers with source: 400
How book qualified: 400 pages
Date Completed: 2021/03/23
Rating/Review: 4.5 This book completely sucked me in and ooh...the emotions... Colleen Hoover has a power with her words that, even not supporting the heroine's behaviour, I still loved the book because I felt so much with this story.
It would have been a 5 stars read if the heroine, Tate, had stood up for herself earlier. The Hero, Miles, was very clear with her with the "no strings attached" from the beginning and, even if it is a mystery until the end why he behaves the way he does, you could feel that there was a good enough reason behind it. The way he treated her sometimes was just awful and she didn't deserve it at all. As readers, we know there is a reason, but Tate should have made her thoughts and opinions clear.
The story is written from Tate's POV in the present and from Miles' POV in the past which I think worked very well to keep you turning pages to find out what happened and guess what was going on inside of his head. It is not an easy story and the last part made me cry and felt very emotional, my heart breaking for the characters.

Task 4 - 1. Each player reads a book by the same author, teams decide author - no pass for this task.
