August may well be the first month in which I won't be able to do a "Completed Plan."
I find the mood-matching search for recommendations (item # 3) very frustrating. First, I guess I don't really choose books by the things in their list, so not very many of the ones they suggest appeal to me. Too, I found the process rather a pain: guess from just the title and cover of a book whether you want to read more about it, before you can see any other information about it at all; click on one to check it out; but then, if it seems possible, copy out the info to check it out on Ε·±¦ΣιΐΦ, and at the various libraries I have access to. Repeat, endlessly.
I started one 26a, and didn't like it at all.
Looking again, I find that most of books I consider are either not appealing at all or not at my library.
I did find one that looked interesting, and while it is not in my library, others by that author are. If it's ok for me to choose one of them to replace it, I'll give this another try. Otherwise, I'm done spending time on it, and will just settle for a "Simple Plan" completion.
But if "emotion-based" recommendations from the Which Book site pop up again later in the year, I'm not even going to bother with it again.
But if "emotion-based" recommendations from the Which Book site pop up again later in the year, I'm not even going to bother with it again.
aw, I understand completely, Susan, I found it hard with this website too. It's kinda fun to play around with but the books were really obscure lol... which is one reason why they're not easily available at libraries.
I find if I scroll down long enough, I usually come across a book or 2 that are already on my tbr so I'd read that :p
Yes, you're welcome to try that author for this task- you came across them through this site anyway so all good :)

Thanks!
Thanks!

which book was it?"
The Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles by Katherine Pancol
It's very French, but naturally I read it in English being very much an anglophone.
I've declared myself finished with just the simple goal for this one. (See message 15 above.) After trying two of the very few books my library had from the ones recommended by the sliding scale on Go to Which Book, I give up. I declared both of them DNF.

No problem. It was worth checking out. Now I know. I was just disappointed in both books, which had sounded like good choices.
