Yyaaaayyy! That is so awesome!! It has changed so much; but for the better. I haven't been back in about 5 years; after my mom moved to MS.

Huh, Alondra, my brother lived in Evanston at one time too! I fear we are in great danger of having a six degrees from Evanston situation here!

No, Bill. I moved away when I joined the military, as well. I haven't lived there since I was 20. LOL

That is so wild! Well, Evanston is pretty popular. It is not as expensive as Wilmette and those further North. It is close to all the rail and bus lines, and still has a metropolitan feel without being ultra grungy like Chicago.

Hello,

I actually live in the Mountains of New Mexico. Most people think New Mexico is a huge desert. And some people don’t even believe we are part of the United States. Lol

I love reading mysteries, thrillers, and even the classics.

message 14: by John (new)

John On a train ride from Madrid to Barcelona a few years ago I thought "Wow - this looks a lot like New Mexico! Early Spaniards there must've felt right at home!"

I'd say Morristown, NJ would be my hometown. Home of the Seeing Eye Foundation, so as kids we're taught never to infere with dog training. Lots of connections to New England. Florida this year after two decades in the northwest.

Mostly read nonfiction, mysteries, and my favorite: travel essay/literature/narrative. Some fiction (novels) but not a lot.

Hey Tone! Glad you made it over.

Mystery/Thrillers - Knots and Crosses. The first in the Inspector Rebus series. I haven't read it in a while; but I love it.

Also, The Keeper of Lost Causes, which is one of my absolute favorites.

Lance (sportsbookguy) | 365 comments Hi - I am Lance - born and raised in Minneapolis, MN and have lived in upstate NY (near Albany) for the last 25 years. I read almost exclusively non-fiction. Most of that is either sports, current events or healthcare. Will occasionally dabble into psychological thrillers or a mystery when a fictional read is desired.

Martha (marthas48) | 766 comments Hey, y'all! I'm Martha. I am from the deep south, but have lived in the midwest for over 40 years. I have a military background, too. Dad was career Army & I married a career Army guy. I haven't lived too many places as my father left when I was young & Jerry had only 8 years left when I met him. I now live in the house his parents built with our oldest son who is developmentally disabled. We are very involved in Special Olympics & are thrilled it has started up again. Hope we don't have to go back, but cases appear to be ramping up again in our area.

I love mysteries, historical fiction, horror, non-fiction .... almost anything because a good story is a good story ... genre doesn't matter so much to me in the end. I also love to crochet and that is when I watch (listen to) tv shows.
