Jane (PS) | 23993 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Lead Rapper - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of BTS, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 31 March.

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

For selection post Option 1 you must have:

Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.

For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link

Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS

For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this inforamtion in a NEW post. I don't want to have to keep going backwards in the thread.

Lisa (mooselover) | 2702 comments I'm Lisa, originally from New Haven CT, but have been living in London, England for many years.
I read MM exclusively and have done so since April 2013.

Tell us a little bit about yourselves and we need a name.
Usually the name is based around the theme. This time its K pop. Ive never heard of it or listened to it, so naming should be fun.

Hazel (x1f4d6hx1f4d6) | 2934 comments Hi 👋 I’m Hazel and I live in Glasgow,Scotland with my husband and son. My house is about to get crazy as we are picking up a puppy tomorrow and a kitten at the end of April.
I am an MF reader although will read some MFM or MM if I need to. I read a variety of romance sub genre the only thing I stay away from is horror.

I normally have a couple of names to be able to suggest but I’m not really aware of K-pop. I might have heard a song on the radio. The only thing after doing a Google search was some of the band names that might fit
CIX (team number phonetically and name of another K-pop band)
Go-stop! (PtP reference and another K-pop band)
Dis-Ease our team/team 6 (Dis-Ease is a BTS song)

Sorry that’s all I have at the moment 😂

Lori MPG means main page genre. When you go on to the main page for your book it needs to be listed on the right hand side, so what you’ve put is right 😃

I'll start out by saying I don't read a ton of fantasy, so I don't have a lot to compare this to, but one thing I know for sure is that the writing is good and so are the characters. It does start out a little abruptly with the MC Kristyl, AKA Krissa, getting into trouble in her new school, and then her whole world changes. She ends up with her aunt Jodi in a small town in Michigan. This all happened so quickly that I was concerned about the pacing of the book. But no worries because it was fine and really had no effect on getting to know the characters and their backstories. In fact, the author juggles quite a few characters successfully, and I'm really impressed by it. It's very well done.

The story itself follows Krissa as she tries to figure out what is going on not only with herself but in the small town her father is from. As secrets are revealed and she learns who she can and can't trust, she puts together the pieces of her past and present.

The end left me with a twist I wasn't expecting as well as a cliffhanger. I guess I'll have to read the other books in the series to find out what happens next!

Review: Time travel to 15th Century Scotland. Adrienne has been transported to from the 20th century by the fae as a punishment for the handsome Hawke who is renowned with women as she has sworn off beautiful men. This book was a bit slow for me to start with but it definitely got better the more I got into the story. I will read the next in the series at some point although I'm not rushing to get to it.

This was more of a YA novel which I wasn't expecting. Fumbling, not at all hot, kind of sex scenes including an almost vomit session. Sexy!! This was just the beginning of their journey so it was okay but I don't hold out much hope of it actually working. Kind of disappointing if I'm honest.

I was a little worried when the first 20% off this book was virtually sex. I am now of the opinion, I like a little sex in my books and I am actually quite happy for there to be no sex with a good storyline. We did eventually get some storyline which was nice.

It's really my fault for reading two books by this author so close together, because damn... they are so similar, I just can't stand it. So maybe that accounts for the low rating? I don't really know what it was, but I did not feel any sort of romance between the two main characters. I appreciated their friendship, but that was it. Also, some of the plot points were a little contrived for me, and I felt like the book left some of the family issues unresolved.

I feel like this would have worked so much better if the characters had been closer in age. There was a really yuck factor that there was such a large age difference between them and their relationship started when they were young. I get that this author likes age gap romances, but does she always have to connect them when the younger one is a CHILD? It's really gross to me and especially gross in this one because they were apparently "best friends" ??? I guess it's possible that this could happen, but to me, I don't see how it's all that realistic. I grew up with older siblings and I was not close to any of them as a child. The MC's relationship with her sister and older cousin and his friends is VERY strange to me.

And once again, I'm going to have to complain about the nickname thing. How in the world do all these people have so many different nicknames for everyone?? And why is it romantic to call the woman you're interested in "kiddo"? This is just extra gross. Not only that, but the amount of times it's mentioned that they are friends like "my friend" or "my old friend" in the narration is ridiculous. Yeah... I get that they're friends. In fact, I think so much that they're friends that I'm having a hard time seeing them as anything more than that. lol.

In order to make this story work for me, I think the kiddo nickname would have to be completely ditched, and the age gap GONE. I would have enjoyed it much more but I just couldn't get past those things. Therefore, this gets 2 stars.
